Don't be a wimp, take out that little engine and put in one from a lawnmower!

Lawn mower engines are vertical shaft, this needs horizontal shaft, you'd need some major conversions to get a lawn mower engine on there.

Or a jet engine. Colin Furve anyone?

I had almost forgotten about that guy.

Lawnmower engines are big and heavy. You'd have a hell of a time mounting it and I'm not sure if an aluminum frame could support it.

Lawnmower engines are vertical shaft, this ain't a helicopter (yet).

5HP is more than enough, when I was in school I built a go-cart using a bedframe seat from a car, and VCS. Thing did burn outs.

That's a go kart, not a bicycle. Bed frames are iron, not aluminium. Apples and Oranges.
