Utah has gotten an A+
Teachers in Utah are required to educate students about broad concepts, like decision-making and goal-setting, but they’re also required to teach more complex things like credit scores, investing, retirement savings and how to navigate student loans.
That lesson seems to be received by students statewide, as Utah has the lowest average student loan debt in the nation. The average Utah student graduates college with $18,873 in student loan debt, compared with $37,172 nationally.

I had personal finance and consumers math in high school in michigan. Both were electives but counted as math credits which you needed.
