How is it more respectful to put it back after a potential mortal injury? If youre gonna do that, may as well give it a quick death and use it for food. Seems far more respectful. If you just want to look at it go to an aquarium.
This over the top bullshit needs to stop. A young child caught an impressive fish, which we have been doing long before PETA was around. He praised its beauty and gently released it while saying how he wants it to grow and thrive. Jfc. I bet you have kids in your family that put firecrackers in frogs mouths. Go have a chat with them.
Over the top bullshit? The kid can stroke the fish and praise it, fine - but the fish had pain and fear nevertheless. You may like fishing, the fish hates it.
You don't think putting a creature in excruciating pain through a damn sharp hook through your gums without any reason? Oh, for fun. The kids intentions don't fucking change a thing about that. THAT is something to teach. If you want to appreciate nature, putting animals in such a huge amount of stress and pain is the wrong way dude
Gums? The hook enters the membrane, typically, on the outer side of the mouth. This area is too thin to have a nervous system. Therefore, no pain. Please educate yourself on super uber basic biology. Also, this fish went right back into the water and ate whatever would fit in its mouth. It is a Large Mouth Bass. So should we mourn and bitch about the stress of the smaller fish that instantly were consumed? What about their pain and unending torment?
