I'm an overnight security officer at a mostly rural area casino, after working there a couple months I've already got a few stories to tell, I have other stories to tell as well but these are the ones that don't require paragraphs of explanation or disclose too much sensitive information

Our property is required by company policy and state law to not allow anyone intoxicated to enter the casino floor, as you might imagine this news rarely goes over well, especially if the person was just on the game floor, this particular instance the gentleman was nice, humorous, and understanding while my supervisor cashed in his chips for him, 5/7 would deny again

Our Casino is a stone throws from the river, and somewhere in that stones throw is tent city, and a few of the homeless come in to gamble (free soft drinks, comfy seats, and the chance to be social with non homeless people, I don't blame them) but sometimes they tend to overstay their welcome

(PSA is janitorial staff basically) After finding the baggie Surveillance looked back to find it dropped by a not-white woman as she got out of her taxi, and was still at a slot machine. Security and Police both confronted her which is when she tried to claim she was being singled out for her race despite security footage, she got a court summons

Dealers don't make commissions on your losses, but they do make tips, so they wanna be your friend, hoping if they save you a few bucks it'll come back towards them in tips.

State I'm in requires all alcohol to be cut off and removed from the game floor at 1am, if we get the chance we'll give warnings so people can finish the drink without chugging it, but often those people are too engrossed in the game to take the warning, and will still be a pain about it. Don't blame me, blame your local legislators

Casino is just down the street from an outside concert area and the country singers have a tendency to come in and game, at which point the switch is flipped and they're encouraged to drink heavy and gamble with high stakes, last time this happened the casino made $10,000 on the one celeb. I hate this practice in the casino but I'm not in a position to do anything about it.

Pic says it all, we watch like hawks because we can be liable if you get in an accident.... also people like to urinate in the parking garage after getting denied #FightThePower

And the best for last

This didn't happen on my shift, but it was all we could talk about once we heard about it. the Security Supervisor on duty, who is a former army ranger, current MMA fighter and french bad ass, gets called over because a patron at the Craps table was giving off a foul odor, when he walked over the guy had his hand shoved down into his ass crack, covering his hand in the shit he had just dropped in his shorts, the guy had poop on his hands and face. Probably off his meds, he was escorted to his hotel room immediately, and on the way up gave the supervisor a pat on the back..... you could say that supervisor was having a shitty night. His chips had to be put in alcohol, as did the bio hazard dice he had rolled, the Craps table was closed for almost an hour to disinfect it. The rest of the night was filled with poop puns and bad word play, good times.

EDIT: Thank you everyone, this is my best post in my 2+ years of imgur, glad my new job is worth it

I worked at a casino before in the "cages" & I absolutely hated my job! Glad I gtfo of there when I did!

Common sens on dealrs advice, they are human too. If dealer is having shitty day, they WILL fuck you up. Only applies to small % dealers tho

"non-white woman." I'm just giggling over this.

I worked maintenance for a casino when I was 18.... Never drank because a got a raise to be the designated driver for all the other guys.

Work at a rural casino. All sounds soooo familiar!

On the dealer advice one, one of my favorite memories at a casino was seeing the look on the dealer's face as my friend doubled down 1/

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

showing 14. It was so idiotic that he had to inform the pitboss just in case we were counting cards even though we clearly weren't. 2/2

#8 Well if you can't go in and can't drive home, where are you supposed to pee‽

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

we have public bathrooms not on the game floor, also we will call cabs for you, and that piss will get you evicted for 72 hours

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

anyone feel a little awkward about the "non-white woman" description?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I did it cause her race isn't important but her pulling the race card was, how would you have described it?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's just my white guilt, don't mind me

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I accidentally set my hair on fire at a table in Vegas. Only time I've ever seen a pit boss look surprised.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not surprised, is be like, "oh dayum"

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You expect anyone in a casino to have enough sense to take advice from a dealer? Really...I have this bridge I'd like to unload...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

He's serious. The dealers don't get money based on what you lose, but they do get tipped by people who win. Especially craps dealers.

As a Nevadan, I'm always up for casino stories.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think you work at my old casino. I use to be a cocktail waitress and these stories are all too familiar

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

+1 for that last one!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'll probably do these posts everytime something off the wall crazy happens

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

@OP you from StL?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If someone is winning alot. Do you guys kick him out to not let him continue on his spree?

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

That only happens if they see them counting cards. Casinos are built on math and sprees eventually even out.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

No, we're not a New Vegas Casino

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you dont mind me asking but are you an Aussie/Kiwi? Asking cause of a couple of reasons, but mostly you saying soft drink

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Soft drink instead of hard drink. Like no alcohol.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No,

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

please confirm my long held belief that there is no fool proof system to win at black jack. I've got too many friends who think otherwise

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Counting cards, but we will catch you for that and throw you out, everything else is just playing the stats but not guaranteed

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean it's gambling at a Casino. Every game WILL pay out to the casino over time statistically proven.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a dealer, I'd like to thank you for keeping the peace on the floor. Alcohol and gambling can really bring out the worst in people.

Do you know where I can find any blow?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I dunno, but in a city is a good start

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do have to say, I kind of disagree with the idea you should always take the dealers advice. I played a lot of Blackjack back in the day--

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and I learned that, when the dealer shows a bust card, I like to split my tens. Every time, the dealer would try to talk me outta splitting-

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

but my tally is ALMOST 80% success rate vs the bust card. One time the dealer even called over the pit boss and was like "this guy keeps--

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

splitting his tens. I'm trying to tell him." She continued to lecture me (in her rather sexy pinstripe pant suit) about the horrors of--

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The 1AM alcohol cut off leads me to believe you work at Mohegan Sun or Foxwood's in CT. Can you confirm if it's one of them?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

wrong state broski, try again next time

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I might get it if you give me 49 guesses. Starting with... North Carolina!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll give you one additional guess, scour the comments, I've responded to one person who mentioned something location specific

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aw, thanks. ;) That comment was just for comedic value, though. I don't know anything about casinos or what states they're in.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has Paul Bunyan walked across the street yet op? I hear he has a big gambling problem. I'll see myself out.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No but on a concert night there was a drunk guy humping his leg before he fell

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm willing to bet it was after a country one..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you won

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do I get free nickels to gamble with?!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

waaait a sec, define "leave the floor"... like, I'm drinking and playin craps and need to run to my hotel and come back - no good? lame

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yep. Basically if you're drunk at your seat, either ride it out at the seat or just cash out, we'll deny on reentry more then we'll >

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

escort you out, at least at my casino escorting out requires a supervisor where as denial on entry can be done by any security officer

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thanks for the info. is their a hotel attached that guests can stay in and freely/drunkenly go from room to floor? jc

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hotel attached yes, but another checkpoint between the hotel and gaming floor, so that's a no to the freely/drunkenly bit

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm looking for a guest. H-E-R-O-I-N. Can you find him for me?

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

In my state, it's everywhere, EVERYWHERE, lost an old friend to it recently, that shit's horrible
