Our library in a small Michigan town got shat on by the local conservatives for having books that talked about LGBTQ issues. Their funding was threatened so they quietly stopped being as overtly supportive of LGBTQ issues. Funding is safe for now

I've been commenting on libraries being the most valuable thing we as a species possess for a while, and they're being neglected across the US. When the lights go out or AI pollutes all of the digital medium, physical books will be the only thing to pass on our collective knowledge. Read the book "A Canticle for Liebowitz" for a glimpse of what could happen to us if we don't preserve and protect the knowledge we have.
