Short of a military revolt, there won't be any defending the free world from Trump if he or his handlers actually pull the trigger. The U.S. has enough military to ensure only 2 options: Fascist global domination, or nuclear armageddon. And the folks with the other nukes are more likely to play ball than kill everyone to stop him.

If it comes to it I will fight. I will take down as many nazi trash as I can before I go down. However bringing the fight to them as one individual is not the way. As someone mentioned they will just kill us and brand as terrorists and half the country or more will celebrate our death. What we need to do is form underground communities of people and begin preparing for the event that things turn to war so we can stand a chance against the fight. Get together, organize, and prepare.

Calling and strikes does nothing already. Protests won't do anything either. It's not hopeless, but it sure as hell ain't easy as just going out and protesting or making some phone calls. You have to be willing to put your life on the line and being okay with the fact that it's a one way journey. That's the kind of sacrifice you need to make and you can't realistically expect lots of people to make that choice.

Here's the thing about memes - well-timed satire, dissent, or resistance dressed up to look like humor can be wildly impactful. Here's the thing about fascism - it doesn't stop because of satire. Making fun of it does fuck all. If your expression moves people to action, great! The meme doesn't enact change tho, the action does, and nobody is willing to step up and DO anything about it. The fascists are winning because they are going into the world and taking action to change it, and everyone else is just meming about it and wondering when someone (else) will do something to stop them.

Meming won't directly stop fascism, correct. But one of the things that allows fascsim to thrive is a sense of hopelessness and solitude. And meming fights that. It sends out a signal that you're not alone. That we're down but not out. That you're not crazy.
It might not seem like much to you because the results aren't tangible. But it serves a purpose.

I forget the name of the strategy, but if you feel powerless, you basically "weaponize inefficiency." If you work somewhere and deal with any of these institutions or people that support this regime, you take longer on purpose. "Oops I fucked up your coffee, oops I made a mistake with your paperwork we'll have to start over". You waste their time, you make the "machine" run that much slower and do what you can to slow them down.

It's been too late for decades. The last real, large protests saw them literally black-bagging people on the street, and no one ever answered for it. Protests have been impotent since the 1970s.
Now, a national walk-out, where nobody works until the fucker - and his VP - are impeached, that might do something. But it can't happen, because too many people are too close to the bandsaw of homelessness to risk it for any cause.

This has been my argument for sometime. We, the anti-MAGA, Democrats, or whatever you call us, don’t have the leadership to organize anything. We also don’t have the personalities to have groups like “Oath Keepers” or any of those faux militia groups. A movement requires two people; one that says “let’s do this thing” and the other that says “Yeah! Come on everyone let’s do it!” We simply don’t have that first person. Until we do we’re going to sit back and get steamrolled.

Do you know anyone personally who's experiencing the same? If so, set up an in person meeting to discuss how you fight back from your position. The meeting can take the shape of a book club or a political meeting. In a political meeting, one person prepares a short intro to the subject. Then others contribute their thoughts. Leadership should be decided democratically. You might also join local socialist groups, if you can. We've been reading political theory. You should too.

Strategically the ones to ask for life risking activity are the folks currently on the chopping block. Asking the “more privileged”/lower risk crowd to support, shelter, and supply the active risk folks is much more likely to get them to resist both passively and actively than asking folks that still feel safe to run straight into danger.
It’s not nice but I suspect it’s a lot more likely to work until/unless the resistance gains some actual momentum.
