My brother's dog, Gia, attacked and bitten in eyeball by a copperhead
He rushed her to ER vet to save her life then to a vet ophthalmologist to try to save her eye, but the venom had done too much damage.

Good sized copperhead. But copperheads are generally mild tempered. Like I said, best plan is watchfulness and avoidance.

I worked in venom research in the 1990's. The science has grown quite a bit since then. Still astonishingly expensive per vial.

Much harder to get in now. I knew Bill Haast, and had a passion for hot snakes. So it was mostly luck and meeting the right people.
