Imagine you’re just chilling in the pool in the 80s and this dude comes and fucks you up with the water equivalent of a 40mm tank round

I miss the first generation super soakers.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Me too, they were so much better.

This guy is responsible for the partial destruction of my house in summer when I was a kid

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sometimes you can like person just based off one thing they did. I like this guy ?

Hahahahaha perfect response!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That is absolutely badass

My GA highschool engineering professor was friends of friends with this guy and talked about him all the time. NVR mentioned he was black.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Does his skin color matter?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What’s wrong with acknowledging part of his identity when celebrating his work?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Former engineer at NASA too!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh man, can you still get super soakers? We used to always have water fights at Christmas as kids. I wanna bring that back.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn't it the #1 best selling toy of all time?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So what ever happened to Super Soaker? I can't find any for my kids and all the eBay ones are "vintage".

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I recall some kinda rule/law change happened at some point that made it so the pressure in them had to be reduced due to injuries...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OG super soaker was the best. The threads fit a 20oz bottle so anyone could have whole coolers full of quick reloads

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you kindly, sir. You made many a VBS actually interesting and kept us cool in the 95+ days.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hes even holding the exact model I had. Came with a backpack tank and everything. Good memories, Thanks Linex!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, consider me soaked.

I bought an original Laramie 50 off eBay just to remind myself. doesn’t work anymore but glorious!

The supersoaker 50 was the best supersoaker, and I will hose down anyone who disagrees.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh MAN I laughed.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

God bless him for using the same threads as a plastic bottle. I used 2 liters as ‘emergency’ ammunition

We draw the line at urine, sir

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I had one (not sure if it was a knockoff or not) that would attach to a garden hose where the bottle screwed in. higher pressure and >

unlimited ammo, in exchange for less opportunity of movement.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We called that the "waterthrower"

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Heh, use both hands. Just like the super soaker!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I still have mine somewhere. Its the one with the altfire where it dumps the entire tank in one shot. It has legit recoil.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I love this man.

Really interesting Guy - https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-37062579 ( Some light reading material )

Dang! That was an amazing story. I live in Omaha NE too! I had no idea! My grandfather was also neighbors with the Koolaid inventor!

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

What did your grandfather invent?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Koolaid was invented in Hastings, Nebraska. Growing up, my grandad and the neighbor kids all would try flavors of Koolaid next door.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is actually pretty freaking sweet!

That was a great read

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i come back to read.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

iirc Laramie sold out to hasbro, who then tried to screw him on royalties, so it ended up in litigation and supersoakers disappeared for

6 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 0

A long time. I think he recently won an just last year target released a limited run... not quite as good as the originals but way better

6 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

They are not way better than anything else. The 100 barely shoots 25 feet. I returned my the day after I bought it.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Than anything else out currently

6 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

pro tip: dont put gasoline in it...

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

"don't"

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or do...

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Will it end up werfing flammens?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Do you have someting against flammenwerfers?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If u do, def dont use a lighter to make it a flamethrower.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Add liquid hand soap before you light it... it’s more fun if it’s sticky and it goes farther away from you or so I hear.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If u do, def don't get gas on your hands and give urself 3rd degree burns

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Millions of Americans are affected by genital herpes. "Even me!"

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear that, but it still doesn't make you any more immune or prone to 3rd degree burns

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He needs to do it again and make the water hurt even more lol

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

You pump that fucker until you can't, you'll make it hurt ?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's how you blow an o-ring man!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes but I want it to hurt even more. Also is it just me or do modern ones kinda suck compared to the ones from the early 2000’s

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I’d wager a bet there is a niche vintage super soaker community.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try adding hydrochloric acid instead of water.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I haven't had one since the 90s sadly

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shit the ones from the 90s were brutal streams too. We all aimed for the face , that shit can blind you quick.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cps2000 owner, i could knock kids off the pool side from lifeguard chair, still have it too

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Big dick player! I had to trade for it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There was one that has a plastic saw thing on the front that made the water look broken up I always wanted it cant find it =(

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had one, the design was flawed because you did more damage to your self with it. Was fun to bayonet people with the sponge saw though
