Our oldest shibe suffered a stroke, but the vet said not to give up on her. Lots of love, lots of care, but she can pull out of it. Just wanted everyone to know that she's old, but she's the goodest doge

She's amazing. Does nothing but howl and sleep and try to play. No one ever posts senior shibes but they're just as ornery.

As a vet tech: The fact that she is awake and seems to be able to control her body (maybe some difficulties with the head) is a big plus!

We recently put down our oldest dog who had a stroke. She was stumbling and couldn't hold her bowels. We figured it was better to let her go

We had a dog we were fairly certain had a stroke. She was paralyzed and we had a date set up to put her down. Then she started to regain 1/2

My dog had a stroke. He's weird now. Looks at you sideways, is afraid of hardwood floors, gets dizzy looking down (like to eat), whines alot

I had a sheltie collie mix that had a stroke. She lived on a few years and lived to 19 or 20. She was my bestest dog. Best of luck to you 2.

I had a cat with the same story. She had a stroke and lasted another 3 years. It was harder for her but just make it as good as you can

My first thought, too. Strokes are actually incredibly rare in dogs. The head tilt screams vestibular. Or brain tumor, if she's circling.

Yup, if she’s better within 3 days it’s likely idiopathic vestibular syndrome. Good as new. Glad she’s okay!

Well, we are limited by what you let us do. Usually when someone says their vet wasn't helpful, they declined a lot of testing, as well.
