Turns out the"beautiful black sand beach" my dad used to surf on when he was stationed in San Diego was the gay nude beach. I found out when I finally visited SD. But my dad isn't a weirdo so I'm sure he didn't care. The waves were pretty choice!!!

There used to be a few clothing optional beaches in the NYC area and I'd go once or twice a summer but afaik, Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook, NJ is now the only one where it's official permitted. Kind of microcosms of society in general in regards to age, race, gender, etc though less families with children over the years. The most special aspect of it was learning to feel unselfconscious of my nudity by seeing others appear the same way. And swimming/strolling nude feels so free physically.

Take off your clothes and go outside in the yard on a sunny day. Feel the warmth of the sun on your body and that free flowing breeze. That's the general fuss. It's just freeing and relaxing if you aren't self-conscious about being nude. Though at the nude beach people generally won't act weird if they see you. Outside your house they might react strangely or even angrily, even when it is legal, which generally requires no sexual arousal or attempts to arouse.

I was at Blacks Beach, the nude beach in San Diego, a few years ago. Kinda hard to access because you go down a narrow, treacherous decline down the side of a cliff, but there was definitely some weapons-grade fuss going on.

Don't know about the beach specifically, but in my discussions with an acquaintance who was a "naturist" (the preferred nomenclature a couple decades ago) and an upper level Soc. class WAY back, the whole thing is about NOT making a big deal about being naked. And yeah, the naturists were family-friendly, out camping together even WITH their kids, because the nakedness wasn't a sexual thing. Just "natural." Having gone to a "swing" club once, it was also a matter of comfort just being 'you.'

Which? I wasn't party to the naturists gatherings, so don't know. A friend and co-worker sprung the other on me as a place to grab a drink and told me he'd done it on a lark to see my reaction. (I give off a very staid vibe and appearance.) HE was the one surprised. Just a bunvh of people being comfortable in their own space as far as I was concerned. Played some pool. Some darts. Danced a bit. Chatted with patrons. Nice evening...

There was a clothing optional beach at a resort I went to a few years ago. Not many folks and a couple of topless ladies. Wife was super jazzed to check it out, but the appeal was more that it wasn't crowded.

I went to a resort like 20 years ago. The only people that went top less or nude were 70+ year old you wouldn't want to see anyways. Its not like most people imagine. Not a bunch of 20-30 year old running around nude or topless. Granted as a dude I was in my 20s at the time too. I didnt partake myself. I have vitiligo and still dont like showing people.
