The info I can find online says it's supposed to automatically raise the windows when it detects that it is floating.
I can think of a couple reasons the window would be down (demonstration, owner bypassed safety features, safety feature didn't work right, etc.), but don't know which one it is.
BYD has been around for a few Presidents and still couldn't get in. They have to be tested for the US market and pass safety standards. Not sure why BYD never did that before. They do have demo cars in the US for journalists to try. Other car makers do that too.
