oh sure, when a family goes to the museum it's wholesome, but when I go it's "a natural disaster" and "the wrath of the gods".

Man I love those movable library shelves, death traps that they are.
PacomeDeCardognac
I actually worked with them, and they have locks that you always flip to secure the shelf before entering to retrieve books.
I know, I have too, but my schools reference library was built in the 60's and a lot of those locks didn't work/kids never engaged them.
well, something has to go into the library jam pots that they sell at the open day fair.
itmightbeamemorableday
You would think they would have had a book that would have predicted this.
JHawke
They probably did, but someone interpreted it as 5 years from now.

Surely the Flat Earth protect us from flooding.
ImNotActuallyEvilAfterAll
The earth is not flat! It's a huge ball of ice so that it just appears flat to us.
StormBurnX
Flat earth would just flood the entire earth before it ran off the edges, round earth would have it all just drip off the bottom. /s
Snooj
No, there's a giant wall of ice around the perimeter. We'd all still die.
Tywinning
What if the wall of ice melts? Then it'd all drain off and those who didn't drown would be fine
Melts? You must be one of those Discal Warming conspiracy theorists.

You're complicating things by making Earth a 3-D cylinder. Just treat it is an infinitesimally thin disk and it all makes sense.

Two each for most of the books, but seven of each for the cook books.

But isn’t that... too many cooks?

It blows my mind how many people don't know the Bible says two each for some animals, seven each of others.
Halinspark
In fairness, you can't even get most Christians to actually read it, let alone everybody else.

Ya, but they're british cook books. Zero is probably fine.

I assume people rip out pages of cook books from the library like they ripped out pages from public phone books.
Arginotz
There were supposed to be 7 of each kosher animal on the ark, two of every non kosher.
thepunnypenguin
Tell your friend Noah took two of every animal except for the ones God said were ok to eat. Noah took seven of those.
Markuspsyches
I thought is was 7 of each clean animal, and 2 of the unclean. Or were the clean ones the only ones fit for eating?
ksilverful
Is this a reference to something?
calcifear
… the Bible? It wasn't just two of every animal, after all
Specifically the 7 cook books part. I don't get that part.
kozytartan
The ark had seven of each type of animal that was used for eating.
Ah! Thank you for the explanation. I'd only ever heard the 2x2 part.
