People in power: "Lets promote public chaos and disorder by not establishing any systems or structures that bring order to the public infrastructure. This will breed resentment towards one another so we stay in power and they fight with each other."
You can tell they're jumping on before the train stops, presumably so they can get seats. Towards the end of the clip, the train has slowed to a complete stop.
So... I'm wondering. These things aren't free, they must cost money... How is it that after this ammount of extra people, the train companies don't make enough money to put more trains/track lines?
Fucking hell man... Corruption really is the seed of most if not all fucked up things nowadays, isn't it? We definitely aren't fighting it hard enough.
I live near NYC(25 minute drive) and avoid situations like this like the plague. I can't imagine having to live life on the edge like this smooshing into packed trains to go home.
yes, and it's also for front seating. This way the bag is always attached to you so no one can just yank it, otherwise the theft would escalate to abduction.
As someone who used to commute by train with a backpack I suspect it's so they can sit down and claim a seat quickly. If it's on your back when you get to your seat you need to take a second to swing it off before you can sit down. They look INTENSELY competitive for seats, so I bet this is a way to get in the seat faster. Also it prevents anyone from grabbing the handle and yanking them backwards, which I imagine might come up in such a competitive setting.
I think when you move about in a crowd having the backpack in front is easier, you'll bump other people off wearing on the back, same for American subways.
It is so they can leap into a moving train without someone else competing in the same sport being able to conveniently yank them back with a handle, so they can sit down and get up quickly without having to take the pack off their back and yeah pick pockets and molesters in a crowd trying to twist your nipples off are somewhat deterred by this too. I don't actually know what is going on through these people's minds, that's just my best guess.
It is unfortunate that some uncultured people would behave so unkindly with strangers and in public like some shameless louts. I hope your nation's situation improves
I would say it's a lot easier to get in and out when you can see it in front of you and your arms already usually bend that way to squeeze it in if you have to
Tinkering round the edges with sometime-in/the-future renewables is y going to save us. As George Carlin said “the planet’s going to be fine, it’s the people who are fucked”
The world can support a lot more people than are currently here. The problem isn't the number of people, it's the management and distribution of resources. A handful of stupidly rich fuckwits are ruining things for everyone in the name of short term profit.
No, there is not. Firstly, it’s a deeply religious country (Hindu, Catholic) and anything to do with sex is a taboo subject. Therefore contraception is not often utilised. Poverty runs rampant so a lot of people simply don’t have access to it. The leadership in India cares very little for its people. There are no resources offered for people of low income or living in extreme poverty. Hence not a financial burden to warrant doing anything from a government level to curb population growth.
If resources run out then they run out. A lot of Indians then use their scrappiness and connections to find a way to make a living, even moving to other countries. The people left behind suffer with inadequate resources
India also has extreme wealth and middle and high income earners live relatively well. So what we see online is always going to be that sensationalised
They had to start operating female-only carriages and even "ladies' special" trains, due to the persistent and epidemic sexual harassment in mixed carriages.
I confirm. I went to India. Learned the hard way, got groped in the guys part then have been told by a nice guy that I should take the first wagon reserved for woman.
My acclaimed teacher from Canada (Born Muslin Indian) had to go back to India to help a teacher because an "Untouchable" woman had been hired as staff at the University of Dehli and "untouchable" students had started learning there. There had been 30 rapes the first day, with teachers doing nothing. the untouchable teacher was being abused by students (Some throwing cow blood/heads at her). So she had to go and throw international shame to get them to act to protect them a LITTLE BIT.
Are you seriously trying to pretend that rape culture doesn't exist where you live? It may not be as prevalent or open as it is in India, but it's most definitely there.
Untouchable meas that person is so low in the cast the highest cast members literally cannot touch them (or let their shadow fall upon them) without having to go clean themselves or risk their bad karma rubbing off. Students were getting raped, the staff said none were reported, and beat anyone trying to report them. She was an award winning, respected academic with a LOT of international support, she basically went in and acted as a trusted witness, forcing the staff and police to act.

Same apply to USA...

Why are they all wearing backpacks on their fronts? Is it to prevent theft?
HenryLongfellowIII
Yes
coreydeangibson6
Right there is a country I have no desire to go to.

I believe they have 'Women Only' cars to keep the pervert men from abusing them...
battlebetter5772
Does everyone wear their packs up front because of theft?
Volpe42
Might make it a lot easier to do this hoping on stuff
BossVarriack
it makes it easier to sit down quickly once on the train so no one can steal your spot when you attempt to remove it

i'm so glad i dont live there

Wouldn't it be great if there was a magical place where every day is like Black Friday?

At this point perhaps the train should just be replaced by a conveyor belt on the ground

We saw at least 3 women get elbowed out of the way, and 1 kick... they are definitely competitive for those seats.

🙏🏽 It has improved greatly! Still we have a long way to go, but peoples public tolerance of gendered violence has really gone down.

They spill over. Do you live in an area where there hasn't been a spike of people from India? Most of my team/escalation points are from India.
Whitebeardthepirate
pretty much every area I live in and visited has seen a massive spike in Hindi people. at a lot of local restaurants, over half the staff is hindi.
mississippilessly318
Please note that Hindi is a language. The national language of India. Hindu is a religion. Indian people are simply called Indian.
Whitebeardthepirate
my mistake then. I always got confused as i felt calling indians indian would be mistaken for native american.
