The issue is the cat will get a habit of stealing food. Cat eat a full uncooked fish with bones and skin, they won't choke on some sliced deboned raw fish.
Yeah most cats eat mice on a regular basis and are just fine (based on worldwide population). One of ours would just swallow them nearly in one piece. They're totally fine.
