Beard care 101 from a non-expert

Step 1-Beard wash. Keep that beard nice and clean. Use as often as you shampoo the hair on your head.

Step 1.5-Conditioner. Same amount as above
Art of Shaving makes a nice set, but it’s a little expensive

Step 2-Beard Oil. This is probably the most important part. Do this daily to save your skin.
Also, make sure you like the fragrance. It doesn’t stay strong, but it does linger.

Step 2.5-Beard balm. Some use it instead of oil. I like to use it in addition to oil in the winter when it’s dry out.
Much less fragrance than beard oil

Step 3-Beard brush. Brush the oil and balm through your beard to get a nice even dispersal. It also trains the hair to go in the right direction. If you want to use a comb, don’t use plastic! It rips, and causes static.

Step 4-Get a barber who knows what he or she is doing. In lieu of that, you can use a guide like this to clean up your “lines”
