The guy looks like he is trying to remember if he felt the range on.

They've all died of old age by now.

except the first woman. she died of heart disease

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Ah yes, right on time.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

is this the same guy who asked the woman if she was deemed healthy?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, him (Julius) and his wife, yeah.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do anchors swim?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are those glasses required to be worn by feminist law? And the giant fuck-off hoop earrings...

Hey look! A repost!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is a teaser for a new Carrie movie?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aw, c'mon, that's fairly impressive, isn't it?

Re: the title--I'm getting real tired of seeing the same damn joke 10 times a day on this site. Try something new, guys

I watched the real episode this is from, it was interesting.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yes! Someone gave me the link and it was awesome. Very informative and enjoyable. Up until her of course. She was so damn annoying.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the main point of an anchor is to not move

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think this is funny

Fuck off.

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 33

I was stating my opinion without insulting anyone. What's your problem?

10 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 7

I know. It's like one of those burns a five-year old comes up with. They could do better, it's not like there's nothing to work with.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Though to her credit, she never actually says that. Hahah someone just added text to her frustrated expression

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Every time I see the word "triggered" on this site, I prepare myself to see something neither funny nor very offensive

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

I do.

OP, you are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity. Farewell!

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 12

We used to do 2000 meters for high school practice once a week and it would take us about an hour. So she is at the pool 3 hours a day?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

mmm whatcha say

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is this? I need to watch the whole thing. Keep seeing it here

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And she doesn't actually say the anchor line.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How can people actually sit through that much painful idiocy?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hah I skipped ahead to find her and immediately got so frustrated with these people that I didn't even watch a full minute. It's a mystery.

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

She didn't really say that tho

10 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 6

I appreciate knowing that. That joke never really made sense to me. That's not how anchors work. And normally I would ignore it. 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

But this thing spends so much time congratulating itself for its own cleverness it really draws attention to the fact the joke doesn't work.

10 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

The anchor is the last leg at the end of relays, including swimming relays. :P

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wonder that every time I see this. What did she really say?

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No the first Lady really said she swims and does all kinds stuff she probably would get a heart attack from doing.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The blonde lady and the whole audience just kind of stare in disbelief not wanting to call her a liar outright with no proof.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's hilarious. Tho it's not totally impossible. She could be active just not enough to burn the ridiculous amount of calories she eats.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

True, and when asked about her diet she gets crazy defensive. That's when the show gets heated. She argues forever avoiding the question.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

She says something about mostly eating veg.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Wait, the big girl or the thinner one?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The big one, lol. You should watch it, it's pretty crazy. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v6mMpE8AaA0

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's what I figured. Thanks for the link!!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She was asking very insistently what the larger woman eats and this was the lady's way of deflecting the question

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, I got to see the video now. She got all defensive. Like, you can't go to a show about being overweight and health then get upset when>

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>people ask about your diet if you claim to be so happy & healthy and you're the biggest person there!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was so odd too that she claimed her doctor agreed she was healthy. You're not just overweight you're obese bitch it's a frikin disease

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her doctor is just tryna get paid or not get sat on. Lol I found it ironic that the other big one had a whale pin. The lady between them =>

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

=> looked SO uncomfortable. Haha

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was just thinking I wished there was a source for this. I've only ever seen this mem.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No worries. It's a great watch.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Indeed it was. I enjoyed the show so much I subscribed to their channel.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

idk why but I'm watching the whole thing... it's fascinating.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I KNOW! I did too! I was completely surprised by all the info and how calm the setting was. Well, until that idiot started talking. Lol

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I liked the doc on the right talking about how being fat is weighing on the economy. He was the only one not tip toeing around feelings.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To be fair, swimming is a great exercise for obese people, it doesn't kill their joints and they don't have to worry about sinking

10 years ago | Likes 610 Dislikes 9

Swimming is my favorite. I've lost more weight swimming than any other exercise. Even walking comes second.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's crap for weight loss, sadly.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once saw an obese woman almost drown herself because her huge legs were so buoyant they ended up forcing her head under water

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I *kinda* want to see that. Im a bad person.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I heard they make good ships.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, but unfortunately it doesn't do much in trimming fat since there's less resistance due to buoyancy.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

You're far more hydrodynamic when completely underwater. Look at finswimmers; look at Phelps doing 50m without breaking the surface.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Swimming in general is a great exercise. If you know what your doing.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

More likely that you just screw up your joints (through asymmetrical movements or wrong posture) than drown. Still not too healthy.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you don't know what you're doing, then it's great exercise for the lifeguards and morticians.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a not obese person, I swim because I want my joints when I'm older. I like them a lot.

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

Run 5 miles a week for a decade now. Joints still ok. Hope they stay that way

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

elliptical for life over here

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I thought those couple lead to knee injury through hyperextension.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

gah, I'm sure there are ways to injure yourself but if you do it right, it's pretty safe?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

But how do you smoke them once they are wet?

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Snorkel

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That means he doesn't smoke them now so he'll have them when he's (a few hours) older

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried explaining this to a rather large friend. She still thinks she will sink and refuses to try

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Exercise aside, swimming is a life skill that could save your life or someone else's....I think everyone should know how to swim

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You could always just push her into the pool and let her figure it out.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As an obese person, you can still totally sink. I sink like a fucking rock when I don't actively try to keep my breath in or paddle upwards.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It would take 2 hours to swim that far if you were pulling 5 minute 100m.. She's not going that fast

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Although I haven't seen her swim, I've seen some pretty obese people swim a mile in an hour, it is doable.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A 5 minute 100m is *very* slow. As an amateur swimmer my time was still about 100m/min in highschool.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

swimming at a slow pace, similar to walking, wont do much besides be easier on the joints. doesnt burn calories effectively

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 16

Yikes. Why all the downvotes? Did I miss something?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When you go from zero activity to swimming it's far more effective despite the low calorie burn. It's not always about how fast you lose

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I walked three miles a day and lost 100 lbs. Walking does just as good.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I walk while I'm lifeguarding. I've probably done more miles around the pool than in it. I've done 10 miles (197 lapsx90 yards) in a shift

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

even long distance swimmers carry a lot of fat on their bodies even at the olympic level

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

ok its worse than walking.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Probably not too hard when the current pushes you most of the way

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What about shoulders? There's no impact like running does to knees but shoulders can ache after excessive swimming.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sure they can ache, but I don't think that's because of damage so much as increasing the range of motion

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nonetheless, a little shoulder pain is nothing compared to the harm being obese does to your body.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And as a lifeguard I've seen obese people swim quite far. They don't do it fast, but 2.5km is not unreasonable.

10 years ago | Likes 196 Dislikes 0

Per day? Would she still be so fat?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Depends how much she eats, among other things. At a slow pace that wouldn't burn that many calories

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

so it's true it takes them a day to swim 2.5 km ?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

2 hours should be sufficient

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I use 1,5 hours to swim 2,8km. I think a fat/obese would use a little more than 2 hours. Because they don't have the stamina. 3-4hours ish

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Increased bouyancy of adipose tissue means obese people use less energy staying afloat than skinny bastards.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Swimming far (at a pace other than fast) isn't hard, admittedly. Eating well is much harder.

10 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 3

I got depression, and eating well is about the hardest thing on the planet for me. Nothing helps me cope better than food.

10 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

I'm in the same boat. Eating helps, but then afterwards I feel guilty for eating bad things and its a bad cycle.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm exactly like you...and i hate this situation. I know how to eat healthy, but doing it is somehow so damn hard :/

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Eating well is a pain in the ass, and I don't really got a problem aside from 'I like eating food'. I wish I was being sarcastic.

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I find cooking helps. If I grab food, I get what I get. Being able to cook helps me plan, and I can make reasonably healthy food taste good.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Depression is very hard. One of the things that helps me is preparing very elaborate dishes in tiny portions. Like sushi or tiny steak pies.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The creativity and positive feelings from making something detailed, every day, really help. Takeout feels like a missed day of my hobby.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a heavy person losing weight & having known others, I think most people really don't have legitimate excuses. It really is our faults.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 8

I wish I could see this actual episode (whatever show this is) though b/c all I've seen are memes that make the heavy people look bad.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a feeling the whole segment wasn't just a shit-fest of denial & dodging accountability but maybe it was, I'd have to watch.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's see your feelings on that in five years.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Please explain how they're supposed to change. I've been losing weight & regressing back & forth for 4 years & the onus is entirely on me.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I'm the one who got lazy and stopped caring, I'm the one who stopped exercising daily & eating right, those were choices I made myself.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because practically no one keeps up weight loss for more than five years. It's a fucking bitch to do, and it owns your life.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's the entire reason they recommend very slow weight loss, ideally 1 lb. per week or less, & lifestyle changes that you can maintain.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Been there, done that. It's caused by hitting it too hard and making fast, unreasonable changes that aren't manageable long-term.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I took the wrong approach in 2012. These days I just walk more at work & cook more at home. It's working & it's not unreasonable.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
