What have you done that's made you die a bit inside?

A friend saw two individuals with huge backpacks filled up. Asked where they were going to camp. They were homeless nd on the streets

#6 Probably got the job because they thought it was a good dad joke.

Helping my grandpa get a new iPhone. Salesperson was explaining the fingerprint reader and passcode. I said "The passcode is in case you

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

lose your finger, haha." Turns out the salesperson is missing the tip of one finger.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hope they remembered the passcode, then.

In HS watching QVC with fam, CitiKnits was featured. I LOLed and screamed CLITKNITS. Still think about it in my 30s.

Went to dog park and there was a dog that looked similar to mine and also had a harness the same as mine. Yelled at that dog 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

For jumping on his owner while playing thinking it was my dog. Nope. Luckily guy just laughed.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I personally think Anne Frank would enjoy you taking a selfie in her mirror.

auditioning for $100K pyramid. category was "ways to make chicken" I read "ways to make children" and I said "intercourse" didn't get on.

Best.

Once, I was teaching my friend how to play a PC FPS game and she kept moving the mouse, then moving the character in seperate actions. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

I told her "no you have to use wasd and the mouse at the same time". It was at that moment I remembered she only had 1 arm. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I've got one arm, trust me it happens a lot, don't sweat it bro, it's all good

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As a note, a mouse built for MMOs might be helpful. Program the side buttons for movement and keyboard stuff, and still use the mouse too.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If she’s serious about gaming she likely already found it, but if physical logistics turned her away from gaming it might be helpful.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I said excuse me to a sliding glass door once.

I was very young and grew up in a mostly white suburb. Stayed overnight in philly with my aunt and cousins. Went to a convenience store..

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Was 12. From a midwest small town visiting a big city for the first time. At a KFC I say real loud to my dad....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All these black people are weird!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

“Wow aunt Karolyn! There’s a lot of black people in here!” She hurried me out of the store. Think I saw an old black woman smirk. I was 5

I had just gotten off the phone with my mother and told a fellow orchestra member " see ya tomorrow - love ya" and promptly left

I once hung up on my flute teacher with "Love you, bye" then immediately called back to apologize. She laughed her ass off.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i have a co-worker who loves to leave busy situations with a "see you later, love you!" to see if people will reply the same automatically 1

What made it worse was he was training to be a priest and his sect was firmly against homosexuality so I had insulted him AND his god

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

Good. As a lesbian I fully support insulting narrow minded, bigoted assholes.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Hey, it’s perfectly fine to insult his dislike of homosexuality.

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

What is the wanker sign

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Surprised I had to scroll this far down. Video shows it as the jerk-off hand motion

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can't imagine a mom doing that, but.. takes all kinds.

I was once approached by an older tourist couple who, having commented that I looked like I might know (I was young and student-y looking) -

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

- asked me where Bennett's Bar was. It sounded familiar, and so I paused and thought about it, and asked them to describe it and stuff. Eve-

When I worked in retail, customer asked if we had Diwali cards. I asked if it was a cartoon character.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

At 16 working retail, there were so many things I never heard of and if people had accents, I didn't even know what to search in the PDA.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could look this up, but I'm not. What is that?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

I didn't know either. Now I do though. Pretty interesting stuff!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love how proud you are of being lazy as well as ignorant...

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

Lazy sure, but if they were proud of being ignorant they wouldn't have bothered to ask. Loosen that stick up your bum, chum.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Admiring honesty doesn’t mean I have a stick up my backside.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If your intention wasn't to be demeaning, i apologize for my earlier remark. I'm not normally that mean myself.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic and mean. My bad if you weren't.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're truly a miserable dick, huh?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

For admiring your honesty? Now you’re just being silly.

I saw a friend's van overnight at my neighbor's house several times. When I asked him about it he told me his wife drives the van

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Good looking out for the buddy though. Not your problem.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not one moment but I'm a friendly person and will wave back to basically anyone. Too often they are waving to the person behind me... cringe

8 years ago | Likes 166 Dislikes 1

That's why you only do a subtle nod if you're unsure. Enough to sort of qualify as a greeting while maintaining plausible deniability.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I do that on purpose as often as I can.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I'm glad other people do it too. I also want to feel loved

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Own it, wave at the other person too with a big damn smile! Meet new people, make friends and alienate snobs!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I did this a lot. The best thing that you can do is laugh about it and tell them "I thought you where just friendly"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me: waving BACK at new colleague. Her: still waving, “Hi Steve!” (Me no Steve). Worse: she came and apologised later. She pities me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m that person too. I always wave and smile back at any friendly greeting aimed in my direction. Smh

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just own it when it happens

Niece going to get nails done with her mum. Out of nowhere - "I thought you hated the Chinese". Apparently mum hated the Chinese PLACE. /1

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

of course mum was at the door and vanished like a magician, leaving me with mini-hitler and some hostile Chinese women wielding nail files.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

We Vietnamese, we hate Chinese too.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

To clarify - wasn't a racial issue. At all. Was a kids say the darnedest things issue.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course, no misunderstanding. It just would be funny if the girls were racist.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always suspected the little one!

At a social event, two girls stopped to talk to me when I was a freshman in HS and told me I looked a bit like Justin Timberlake.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I proceeded to explain to them in great detail why they were wrong and just making fun of me.

Cleaned my purse out the night before my driving theory test. Only realised AT the test centre that I’d thrown my licence in the bin too.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's pretty messed up of her, to be honest.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Friend had 3 cards. The machine wouldnt work. It wasnt the paywave one. Switched cards. Also not the paywave one. (when the tech was new)

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Paywave?

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Paywave/Paypass/Contactless. Seems to have many names varying with brand/location, Im sure the list goes on.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I also have no idea what any of that means. Do you just mean a credit/debit card?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's a specific kind of card with a chip in it. To pay you just wave the card over the scanner and don't need to enter a PIN

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Cards with NFC. No swiping, no PINs

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah, Yeah. In England it's universally contactless

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It is here too now, this was a few years ago.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tap!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We say, “tap your card here.” Canada.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not familiar with any of those lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Tap and Go"? The bank cards with chips in them which allow you to pay without inserting the card into a reader.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There have been a few times where I was so tired I tried inserting my I.D card into the credit card reader to buy my breakfast. One time 1/

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It happened and the person beside me in line went "Wrong card, man." I looked at him confused, looked down at my I.D sticking out of the 2/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Credit card machine, and just shook my head as I slowly put my debit card in. The cashier gave me the most genuine look of understanding 3/

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And said "I think that sums up everyone's morning that's come through here today." Still so goddamn embarrassing. 4/4

But you know Anne Frank would have been taking all the selfies if she had a camera.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

When I went to Dachau there were a bunch of German schoolkids throwing rocks at each other. Made me wonder where those rocks have been.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

Recently spent 3 weeks in central Europe studying the holocaust, although there are some very strict rules in some places.... this happens 1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Way more than you would think. And it's not just people on vacation. It's people from all nationalities and backgrounds doing this stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I just came back from touring Dachau... you would not believe how often ppl take smiling posing photos with dark shit.

8 years ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 3

Sadly, I think I would believe it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Some places they don't let you take photos of Nazi relics-- lest they end up in the wrong hands.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

"Wrong hands" WTF? Any picture of withing a public museum that "wrong hands" want, they've already taken.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

i see nothing wrong w/ that tbh

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

Okay. This is the one i don't understand, what's the issue? It's not like terrible things are still happening, and sure its a somber place

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 18

It’s been a year since I went and it still haunts me. There are things you learn that they don’t teach you in high school history class.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But if I'm on vacation I'm probably happy and smiling, so..... If I take a picture I'm gonna smile, and i don't usually take selfies but I

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 13

Do sometimes..... so. I don't get the issue

It displays massive ignorance and selfishness. It's actually the perfect picture if you need to prove you're stupid.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

I'll jump on this downvote train by completely agreeing with you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Search „yolocaust“ and have a look through the pictures. Maybe You will get it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's about respect for the things that happened there.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

I 100% agree and am not calling you out personally but imgur does love joking about the holocaust or 9/11... in all fairness.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I mean, yes to both of you. I think it's a heck of a double standard to complain about a girl taking a selfie and then make Hitler jokes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didnt smile in pics at Mt. Vernon or Gettysburg and outright refused to take photos at Arlington Nat Cem. Just my personal preference.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Ironically concentration isn't her forte

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Surprising considering the massive head.

Was buying balloons at a dollar store from a very manly looking woman. When she gave me change I said thank you sir.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Someone called me sir on accident the other day. I don’t look or sound like a man. I wonder how long it will haunt him.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Eh, I once made a gentleman aware that he was in the wrong restroom. Turned out to be a rather masculine looking lady.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I did this to a woman at the McDonalds near my work. The kid at the first window had a more feminine voice and her voice was deep af.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The twin sons and the homeless woman paying...there's no coming back from that.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The homeless woman is easy, come back and give her way more money than she spent on you.
