woozle is a slang term collecting weasels and similar animals; ferrets, martins, ermines, minks etc. i'm opretty sure she's meant to be an ermine.

I know I'm picking nuts. :) All of those animals (mustelidae) have whiskers. I think the whiskers make them more cute.
