The wood species is black limba
The starting block was a bit under 2” thick
I carved it using an angle grinder and dremel
Lots of sanding

Nice. Last Winter I lost a Monstera that I raised for three years from a cut off limb to a 4' tall plant... all due to the multi-day freeze we had.

Black limba is really pretty. Expensive though. I made a carved sign with it once.
Also, FU auto correct for changing "limba" to "Limbaugh" at first.

Normally they just spawn in when you get old in your bowls. Amazon also sells them though these days.
