Depends on facility. Some allow family to document progress to allow pt to process all they've gone through after. Especially PICU.

normally I am against malpractice cases, this is the exception. Don't bleed your docs dry over known risks of treatment though.

Agreed. I've been sedated with wisdom teeth removal and had surgery. Death was a risk in both situations, no matter how small the odds.

It was over sedation, my guess was he'd choked on blood from the removal regardless, and that was correct, he was too sedated and drowned.

Surgery is best for impacted (sideways) teeth that need the bone cut out.. on this radiograph, these look relatively easy to extract.

Sometimes they're angled so that they can't break through your gums. They have to be dug out.

Normally it's a simple out patient procedure, with the patient done and home in a few hours. Same with vasectomies.

Sedation can vary, if the doc has to slice and dice to get to them, general is pretty common.

I was back to normal work and school the next day and eating regular solid foods 2 days after. Never even needed pain meds, I was lucky.

When I got mine out, I just had to lay low for a few days. Didn't even use the Vicodin, Ibuprofen was just fine. I've never heard of this.

Well he was intubated. They usually do that to prevent the patient from pulling the tube out (they are usually confused/disoriented).

I've inserted urinary catheters and the men usually just complain of pressure, not extreme pain. Everybody is different though.
