I may be a bitter old drunk but I immediately downvote when someone asks for“some love for my....”. Begging is not oming.So">becoming.So no.No love.

@op ... what's your experience with watermelon rind pickles? any? they're my favorite.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no experience with that. But I have friends who live to pickle watermelon rind. Super cool.

If you don't boil your brine when filling the jar, it keeps your pickles much crispier, less...flacid. True story. Nice work!

I am very new to the pickle game. Any tips?

Sterilize your jars well by boiling them before use. Wipe the rim of the jar with a clean cloth after filling, before you put the lid on.

Do not fill the jars to the point vinegar is touching the lid. It will eat through the lid.

I usually do big canning projects with my mum. I'm only starting to can solo, but I can try to make a decent diy post.

:) Try also putting some blackcurrant leaves in there with cucumbers. I'd do so.

Of all of the veggies that can be pickled, who decided to call pickled cucumbers pickles?

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Maybe they were the first thing to be pickled?

Nice. Homemade pickling & hot sauces are something I need to try.

Pickles are easy and delish. You wont go back to store bought after.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I really want to make hot sauce with the pickled peppers, but I'm worried about cooking super hot peppers in my tiny apartment with my dog.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Highly recommend pickling fruits! Soooooo delish, strawberries probably my favorite.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Use a recipe without dog.

Hey there, I work in a small shop making hot sauces and salsa using some hot peppers. Make sure to open a window or 2 and you'll be fine.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I make hot sauce too, do you have any tips?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live in Manitoba so it's pretty cold here. I'm going to wait until the spring to make hot sauce so that I can open a window.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's awesome! What's your shop like?
