America, Americans who voted for this, and voted for this by NOT voting.... Make it make sense!!!

The timeline exists because all you did was vote. Voting is the bare minimum.

Islam takes religious iconography VERY seriously.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A common misconception among Christians is that Jesus isn't a figure in Islam. He actually is.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's how shitty Turmp and this clown car of grifters are

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I know the Iranian leadership are not good people, but you have to admit they're being hilarious.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The word "itself" is the tiny detail that just sets this off as pure platinum šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reminder: while Islam does not recognize Jesus as divinity like Christianity does, he is seen as one of the Prophets, along with the likes of Abraham, Moses and Muhammad. So despite everything else, ISLAM shows more respect to JESUS CHRIST than Trump, or indeed most US Evangelicals.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

This is news to a lot of Americans who only know Islam as "that guy the terrorists worship or something"

Epstein who? What were we talking about? It's hard to remember with all of these distractions

Iran could decree that it shall now be called the Straight of Epstein, and trump would abruptly never speak of it again.

Take solace in that Trump is a few years past average lifespan of an American male. And American presidents has lifespan of about 73 years which is a few years shorter.

If dementia doesn't get him out, old age might get him out.

Trump then pulled 11 million in funding for a catholic charity, supporting migrant children in retaliation.

Even the crackhead who fights off invisible bats at the train station has the moral highground on the US.
I don't get how the people of that country get surprised.
Well actually I do. They never had an education system

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey those crackheads can be fine, upstanding people. I ran out of gas once in the middle of the night and some crackhead rolled out of the bushes on the side of the road, shirt half-off, eyes bulging, and incoherently helped me push my car to the nearest gas station. All while a cop sat and watched.

I’m not religious, but threatening the Pope and then depicting yourself as Jesus has to be worth ten broken mirrors and a herd of black cats running under ladders. Just sayin’.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

At this point, penance from Trump would be appointing a new head of the FBI and AG, ordering them to prosecute his entire administration, many members of Congress, and everyone in the Epstein files, turning his entire family's wealth over to charity and then turning himself and JD Vance over to Iran for prosecution for war crimes and crimes against humanity. And that's just to start.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Then JD Vance told the pope he doesn't know shit about theology and Hegseth, a rabid 'christian' quoted a fake bible verse because he's never read the bible.

I've always had this theory that the world we live in is already hell, and that we're doomed to be reincarnated until we've learned enough lessons that we deserve to pass into the good place when we die.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhhh, I think a couple billion people have had that same idea. There might even be more than one major world religion about that.

There's a theory in quantum physics (I am not a physicist so I may get this ass backwards) where something can be both a wave and a particle and it won't know what it is until after it's observed.

I think something like that happened in our future and the ripples are flowing backwards to us to change the effect from a particle to a wave, because Something was observed.

Splintered timeline that should never have happened because of something that hasn't happened yet.

The problem is that we only detect things by their inefficiency...

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A time traveller arrived in March of 1996, making the www public to avert WWIII. But doing that only delayed the inevitable, causing a host of other problems that in the initial timeline had been solved by the death and destruction reducing the earth's population.

Subsequent timeline incursions to try and fix this have only made it worse, to now where we are looking at the inside of a grandfather paradox where things get so bad the time machine doesn't get built.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And as usual, someone dint read Bulletin 1147. https://reactormag.com/wikihistory/

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure Bulletin 1147 is wrong. These things would have been invented anyway, it just would have taken decades or even centuries longer without wartime R&D budgets and technical incentives. We'd only now be landing on the moon for the first time if it wasn't for the cold war.

I'm not a man of any sort of afterlife beliefs, not on any sort of principle, but because I know I don't know. I can almost subscribe to this though, because no day has felt real in the last year and a half, at all. This is such a nightmare. A constant, unbelievable nightmare that you'd normally wake up during and realize how insane of a situation your brain made up. But it seems to be real so far and I don't like that. I hope I'm in a coma so bad.

I thought Christians didnt follow the Pope and it was just the Catholics?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Fuck if I know. It's all the same cult crap to me.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Technically, yeah. But if there's an unofficial "leader of all Christiandom," it kind of falls on the Pope by default. Catholics are like 1.3 billion people. And while Protestants are over 900 million, no one Protestant denomination has more than about 100 million. Eastern Orthodox is a little over 200 million. So Catholicism is larger than the rest of Christianity combined, and about 6x bigger than the next largest Christian faith denomination. Tl;Dr: Pope is a big deal.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Additional minor context, Eastern Orthodox is kind of on the opposite end of the spectrum than the Protestants and push come to shove are more aligned with the Catholics religiously.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s because southern baptists an evangelicals don’t view Catholics as Christians …for some strange reason

4 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

They’re all racist Calvinists at heart. It’s the same dance, just different songs in minor keys and out of tune.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve lived through manifestations of that more than once.

The first was in 1983, when Longview Christian Academy (an independent Baptist private HS) cancelled a basketball game (and all other athletics) with our Catholic private HS…after they found out we were a Catholic private HS.

Nevermind that the school’s name (ā€œCistercianā€) has ALWAYS & ONLY been associated with Catholicism since the monastic order was founded in the late 900s. šŸ¤”

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Man, I’m sorry to hear that - that’s more overt than anything I’d ever faced in Texas. My experience was only that friends were constantly trying to ā€œconvertā€ me.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That incident was far & away the worst. It actually made the national news.

MOST of the rest have been snide comments. I let most of them slide, but I occasionally push back on the stupidest ones.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like some of those "no true Scotsman" things to me.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I didn’t realize that. Isn’t Catholicism the original Christian religion though? I guess they probably have a made-up answer to that

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"THEY AREN'T DOING IT RIGHT"

Thats about what it amounts to.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Worshipping saints is against God's commandment to only worship him, that's why we only worship Jesus, God, and trump."

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Anti-Catholic sentiment runs so deep that it was scandalous to many Christians that JFK became president.

The KKK was/is also virulently anti-Catholic.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Actually, and whilst ill admit i havent been on Truth social (yuck) to check myself; several of the news shows I listen to in the UK have said that tens of thousands of people on there were mad as hell at him for it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

And then after getting called out on that image, Trump deleted it hoping everyone would conveniently forget, and when they didn't tried to pretend "oh l didn't realize, I thought I was a doctor."

4 months ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

Lying through one's teeth like a naughty child is characteristic of conservatives.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Did you hear how he came up with that? He was told that the official strategy was to say that the image was doctored. And he got confused and started saying that it was an image of him as a doctor.

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It amazes me that decaying lump of fat in his head can generate enough electricity to move his decrepit frame.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Oh the rest is just running on layers of built up drugs in his system. A precise chemical mixture of Adderall with a hint of cocaine.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think actually he claimed they took the image down *because* it made him look like a doctor. Which obviously is damaging to his "anti-medicine" image.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

West didn't they replace it with Rfk Jr? Or Dr. Oz.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't forget Trump also pulled funding from Catholic charities

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Good. The government should not be spending our tax dollars on religious institutions.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

If you're giving money to Evangelicals but not Catholics (or Muslims, let's be honest there too) you're not taking a stand for secularism, you're just being a bigot.

The point is "no institution above another" and we are playing pretty explicit favorites right now.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I agree.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

even when that charity was aiding migrants?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Give the money to a non-religious charity that aids migrants. I'm all for aiding people, but not when it comes with a side-dose of cancer.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and what religious charity aiding migrants has the same reach and connections...? Keep in mind, many of the migrants are religious themselves, so that helps them be more approachable.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As long as the money goes to those who need it and the don't preach or try to convert I'm fine with it

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I guarantee any help the recipients were getting was surrounded by religious iconography.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

not from my experience. I've worked with Catholic halfway homes before, and while priests and nuns may pop by, the facilities are just like any others, just with a cross or two in the hallway. Catholic hospitals are the same.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you think that the people getting help really care? The Salvation Army is pretty religious but I know some people who have gotten help battling addiction and getting work because of them while they're not even religious. A helping hand is a helping hand even if the other hand has a bible in it.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, religions take advantage of desperate people. I do not blame the desperate people. Our tax dollars should not be enabling religions to take advantage. Enable non-religious charities instead.
