I'm surprised that kitty didn't jump up on the table. Although... growing up we had a cat. My dad hated hated hated when it would jump up on the table/counter and he'd swat it. My mom thought it was cute and would encourage it. The cat pretty quickly learned when/when not to jump.
See, mine never has that look and I do always give him a shot. If he's curious about what I've made or have I take a small amount and let him sniff and taste. He mostly doesn't care about human food. He has the cutest face when he sniffs. A couple teeny tiny licks mostly missing as he gets closer. Then he doesn't like texture or flavor, he bounces, and nibbles on his food. I also give him a couple types of kitty treats during the day. This cat still has such a cute, nit fucking around face.
