Hey "Lindsay Smith", if you have immigrated to Canada, and have established residence in Ontario to start working toward your PR, and you brought that car with you, and it still has American plates on it, you are likely in danger of getting a ticket or getting fined. Imported cars are supposed to be registered in ON within 45 days of import and inspection.
You dare give me the black spot? And drawn on a page from a Tim Horton's flyer? You tore a page from The HOLY FLYER to give me the Black Spot? or, alternatively: Its worse than a black spot, its actually a White Spot.
But if you don’t speak French how would you even know? The 4 times I’ve gone to NB we always avoided Quebec. Heard they don’t like English speakers there and funnily enough…they don’t speak English (had a neighbour from there he spoke English - RCMP - but his parents knew not a word or pretended not to).
It's essentially a delay of game penalty caused by intentionally flinging the puck across the rink in order to waste time. It is most commonly done in power play killing situations.
Ah but it’s considered a valid defence against a power play and is not called. It’s only a penalty during normal play. Also not called if the goalie skates out and touches the puck before any of the regular players.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear, I was meaning an oft debated kinda vague/tricky to police rule. It was still only a tongue in cheek comment though as I know neither sport.
Sounds to me like they left before the fascists seized power. I understand— reading comprehension is sometimes hard, buddy! But ya gotta try your best!
Depending if there isn't a massive change in the US government, it would behoove me to look for another country to live in. I know there is no guarantee, but hopefully Canada would be willing to let me in.
I hate to say this cuz I am pro immigration and also I like Americans. Canada is small, if America keeps self destructing. Canada won’t be able to handle a large amount of people fleeing. You guys are 10 times the population as us, our cities are very dense and housing is extremely high demand and expensive here. The other issue is, if America goes Germany style, Canada is cooked.
Saskatchewan is clearly a cartographic error and doesn't actually exist. A perfectly rectangular province? Yeah right, some map maker just got lazy and decided to skip a bit.
Saturday to this last Thursday was 28-36C - AKA HOT AF (for me anyway) for those still living in the degree of F...today...it's 8. Calling for below or around 0 some nights coming up...and my wife just did ALL of her flowers...

Thank you, Canadian, for keeping my faith that you are nice humans

Part of "living here for a year" should mean you're using local plates and insurance.

Well, *that* was a polite reminder...

I can’t imagine feeling welcomed by a country. I’m an American and never felt welcomed in my own country.

That's from Kingston! My home town!

Makes sense. Your Government is the main problem. I have no problem with most of its citizens (that I have met).

The ones with whom you'd have a problem have their noses too far up Trump's ass to actually travel to Canada.

I failed my Canadian citizenship test, with the Q: what is "icing" in hockey?
mrputter
Answer: "Yet another opportunity for the ref to demonstrate how blind they are."
Patrone26
Icing is when the puck come down the ice, my arm go "comme ça", then the game stop then start up.
idontlikepickingusername
And if get a penalty you go to the penalty box and feel shame, after 2 minutes you go free.
TheWombatStrikesAgain
50% of the game?
ChaoticAtmosphere
During regular season, yes. Playoffs? Well that's when we get to see hockey being played.

Don't feel too bad, the refs don't know what it is either

Sounds an awful lot like a Canadian “offside” rule from the comments.
thelatebillstickers
Uh sorta, but there is also actual offside in hockey so they had to call it something else.
unluckyandbored
Kinda but not really. There is an "offside" rule in hockey (player without puck crosses center ice ahead of teammate with puck)

At least the east side is sorta serrated. Not sure who’s cutting who though…is it us? Or is it them? 🤔

I experienced summers in far north Alberta back in the early eighties. It would often get to in to +40C.
JonSnowAKAAegonTargaryen
Maybe so, but it is wild that Winnipeg has been hitting 37C (without humidity) since the 1900s, and frequently experiences -37C or less since.
pullingsixty
No argument from me. Climate change is real. That was just my experience of the wild seasonal temperature swings of Northern Alberta.
