I used to follow her on IG. I can't remember her name. Va va voom!

Very risky to do that with sneakers on a court. In middle school I saw a kid slide into home on a gym floor and his sneakers caught and it snapped his leg.

Watch that Dallas cheerleaders documentary, those women destroy their hips, backs, knees from doing the jump splits for a few nfl seasons. It's crazy to be that injured for life at 25 years old

2 months ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 2

See working out does the same thing. No cartilage by the time they are 35.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

What's crazy is how little they get paid considering they are probably the second or third largest revenue driver for the team.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some people wreck their shit doing too much sports, I wreck my shit by doing nothing. They're all good choices.

Mr. Greenfield!!!

Gymnastics is brutal on your body

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Gymnastics isn't nearly as brutal as cheerleading is.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At least they make tons... Of.... Money?

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

nah. they get paid minimum wage basically and most keep second jobs

2 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Sorry, yes that was the joke

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes but all the dumbest guys in America think they’re the hottest women alive, so…. Worth!

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

idk that's worse for me 😂

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I did it with all kinds of sports. Now I’m only 53 and can barely walk from the damage.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can barely walk at 38, but at least its not from body damage, its from genetic damage.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm loosely a decade behind you, and I can barely walk because I "didn't" do all kinds of sports in my 20s and 30s.

I'm trying to earn it back, but it's way easier to "stay" healthy than it is to "become" healthy 😞

Oh man! I did it all but then arthritis got me. I also need double knee replacements. I have to lose the weight before surgery. I’ve put on a lot while being stuck in the house, and I’m high risk because of lymphedema in my legs- poor circulation isn’t good for recovery. It’s awful to go from very active to almost nothing & now I have to have X-rays to see if the arthritis is in my back. Get healthy NOW because it gets harder as you age. Simply walking everywhere is a great start. Good luck!

Actually stopped most of my athletics in my later 20s because of arthritis. Had bilateral orthoscopic knee surgery, had plica bands removed, still had (have) knee pain from arthritis.

Thing was, it wasn't getting any better NOT exercising, and when I did exercise it didn't make it any worse, so....fuck it. If I'm gonna be in pain either way, I'm gonna try to and be in pain and at least modestly healthy.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My knees and stuff are painful but I’m used to it. Whatever is happening with my back is excruciating. I’m actually a little scared to find out what’s wrong. I went through a windshield in my early twenties. Hoping that it’s just an old injury really acting up.
I’m so sorry you hurt all the time. Gotta be tough AF to get old!!

...much like the players on the field.

2 months ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 6

Good point. However players are compensated millions of dollars for that risk. Cheerleaders get tens of thousands.

2 months ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Do they even get that much?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dallas is peak cheerleading too. Houston Texans cheerleaders make about $35an hour not including games. The current 4 lowest salaried Texans players all made $885k per year. Wtf.

2 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Wtf. That's basically nothing for such a demanding and dangerous job. I guess it's competitive? Even still. The fact it's hourly at all is insane.

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Not quite the same. Up until this year they were getting paid $16/hr. No benefits which means no health insurance, paid time off, sick leave, short/ long term disability, etc... All of them worked 2 - 3 additional jobs which meant working 16 hours a day, nights, weekends, holidays with no overtime or vacation. Watch the documentary before making statemens

2 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

I get what you are saying .. but the players do also destroy their bodies.

The initial point says nothing about compensation.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If you're going to compare nfl players to nfl cheerleaders you have to use the same variables or "playing field" or apples to apples. I'm sure you get what I'm saying

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Which begs the question...why? Like, wtf is the point?

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

To bag a player and retire.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Because they go from "Attractive female" to "Current/Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Attractive Female" which means $$$.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a position that's highly coveted, I can't grasp why but dance is a world I'm not familiar with

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well, I guess if it makes them happy

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It also can lead to a lot of other opportunities. So many try out and just a few make it. They are given all kinds of trips, modeling gigs, but the thing is they aren’t well paid for any of it. They get to go cool places and the prestige of being a top notch cheerleader if amazing but it only lasts a few years, they don’t come out rich, and their bodies are broken by 25-30. I tried to make it into professional cheer but I rally was much too big. I was tall and I was very muscular from sports-

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

-They definitely did not want to see rippling muscles on a girl. Women’s bodies aren’t made for sports. Most of us end up very broken very young. //

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

brainwashing circus? the sport is a religion to many so they teach their kids at a young age to worship or be shunned. Im the #1 fairweather fan of every winning team go sport! Down with the losers!

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sex sells. And the people making the money off it keep it all, because fuck you.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, the why the job exists is obvious; the part I struggle with is who's voluntarily trashing their body fir minimum wage?

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Because they more money outside the official cheerleading job because of exposure. Cowboy cheerleaders are I think the best paid at around $150,000/year as of last year. The league average is around $45,000. When you add in pay for side hustles like being a hot woman at a car show type stuff they make on average around $100,000/year. Most have full time jobs such as teaching or nursing also since cheerleading and being a pretty girl on the weekends allows it.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, that doesn't seem like especially good money to ruin my hips by 25. But maybe that's just me 🤷‍♂️
