I disagree completely. An extra half day and $175 in materials is a no brainer, if you want a wobbly, squeaky, messy deck, then go for it!

Watch out for "attractive nuisance" (check local laws). That yellow tape probably wouldn't hold up in court. Get treads and rails up ASAP.

Decking calls for 9-10” centers minimum, and picture frame treads new the blocking for miters to rest on and attach to.

It is Correct for composite decking. Most manufacturers recommend stringers be 9-10 inch on center. Im a pro builder. I Do this everyday.
