He wasn't prepared for that

Hey imgur, it's story time!
This happened a couple of years ago but I was reminded of it today so I thought I should tell you.

I was born with a heart defect called Atrial Septal Defect. It's basically a small hole between the left and right atrium which is supposed to close after birth. But it didn't for me and went undetected until my last year of high school.

I had minimally invasive surgery and was recovering well. When I finally went back to school two weeks after surgery I handed my gym teacher a doctor's note stating I was not allowed to take part in gym class for a couple of weeks.

He read it, looked at me (my hand was resting on my stomach because that seemed to be the most painless way to rest my arm) and asked straight away "Are you pregnant or what happened?". The whole gym class heard him say it and looked at me in shock. I dryly answered "naah, I had heart surgery" and his face went full awkward seal. I still have to laugh every time I remember this moment.

I wasn't offended though cause I ain't no little bitch. He did apologize later when the rest of the class was doing their warm up.

TLDR: Gym teacher thought he was being funny when asking whether student is pregnant, turns out she had heart surgery.
