"I know a place where there is no smog and no parking problem and no population explosion . . . no Cold War and no H-bombs and no television commercials . . . no Summit Conferences, no Foreign Aid, no hidden taxes-no income tax."

#38 sometimes I'll see a drink or something in a weird amount like 11.5 floz and assume it makes sense in ml, but it's a stupid amount in ml too. Like, why did they make it that specific size that's inconvenient for everyone?
SpaceBurgerSteve
#9 This would be great if it weren't for all the book stupid people who just assume that they MUST be street smart instead.

#19 The government owes the people it sells bonds to, the people owe the banks for borrowing for houses and shit, and the banks owe money to the government to cover their loans to people
DietCokeIsMyDrugOfChoice
So a big circle jerk pyramid scheme?
Isorikk
Yep, pretty much how the AI bubble is going as well

#2 The more ironic part is that navigating in orbit has pretty much zero related skills to flying, other than sitting in a tiny chamber surrounded by buttons and knobs

SleazyBijou
Silly Canadian, metric is for Europeans
VosperOfAntarctica
The metric system is so easy! *proceeds to get it wrong*

I'm pretty sure he's lying about being named Drinks McGee, too!! (/s)
OmnibusLatinName
Man, it gets so good though. 1mm^3 = 1ml. 1 Joule is the amount of energy to raise 1ml of water 1° C... all so tied together and thoughtful :)
Shaddak
1ml = 1cm^3
OmnibusLatinName
Damn. My bad. Been a few years since I studied that
tantallous
maybe canada has a different metric system than everyone else

you're joking, but you're not actually that far off. they have a... weird style.

This is 100% correct by the way. This is actually how we use measurements here. No shit.

#1 Got nothin on the days ruined by a 2000 year old book.
ReaperCDN
Its not even 2000 years old but also yes.
mafiacarstarter
As a rough average.....
Much of it is dramatically older.
ReaperCDN
The written book is a collection of multiple works over the centuries. Some are certainly older, but they all stem from oral traditons. The entire NT was written somewhere between 100 to 200 years CE, and wasn't ratified until around 400 CE. Making the bible about 1650 years old in its current iteration. I can accept rounding that up for variation.
mafiacarstarter
If you're going that way, the NIV Bible, which is the bible most English speakers know and/or use, was released in 1978, so the bible is less than 50 years old.
