Refueling a plane mid air

Please do not move while The Nozzle is calibrating.

It's cool how they just float like that

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

That looks expensive.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I understand refueling to keep planes in air, what about the pilot fatigue and engines long operation usage? how long do fighters stay up?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We did several 8+ hour missions in Persian Gulf. Refueled 3 or 4 times each mission while patrolling on station.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And in the middle of a laser battle too! Incredible!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some funny conversations between the two pilots

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Too many puppies not enough tits

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Yep, just another day at the flying gas station...wonder if they have slushies to...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice! Long enough and slow enough filming to actually enjoy this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mid-air refueling of course, smiles every time my face is up in the source

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yet I still gotta turn my engine off at the gas pump.

Royal Australian Air Force KC-30A tanker refueling either RAAF F/A-18F's or F/A-18D's. Most likely during operations against WAS WAS.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Crazy how nature do dat.

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 3

People don't think it be like it be... but it do.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Easy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the hardest part of playing top gun in the nes.... refueling

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

The struggle was real

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell I couldn't even land!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s the first thing I thought of! And then I heard the music!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's up, fellow Old?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh you know. Creaking joints, fist waving at kids. You?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mostly grumbling about how much I hate new slang that I don't understand. What the hell is a "lit fam" anyway?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea. That’s woke. Best dab on it.

*danger zone plays* Speed up! Down! Down! Up! Speed up! Slow down! Down! Left! Left! Up! Down! Down! *fails refuel attempt*

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You shouldn't let your engine run when filling up.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Must be hard to steer with that huge throbbing erection.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"This is the wrong stick."

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Must go faster!

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

The radio chatter between the refueller pilot and the attack aircraft pilot is pretty amusing during these, check it out on youtube.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

got sauce?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The balls on these guys! A riddle when refueling mid-air? Thanks for the video link

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wish I could make that go to FP - best thing I've seen all day

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some books (None Braver) lists some commentary - "Swing and a miss!" Or "Welcome to Chevron. Unleaded, Plus, or Supreme today?"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Going to get the book - thanks again

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it not easier to land the plane?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Only if you've got somewhere to land.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mid-air refueling is actually way more efficient and is often used when the planes can't land(like a bomber loitering over a target/AOR)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah; I’d be curious about the cost efficiency of doing all this compared to land/refuel. Of course time constraints are prob the reason

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Can’t always land the plane due to operational requirements

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not always possible if you have to be somewhere quickly or stay within an area for a prolonged period of time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Landing/take off to refuel uses more fuel. Refuelling in the air as tricky as it may seem can be done in 15 minutes

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gas station in the sky.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Someone clever could make a song about that to the tune of ghost riders in the sky....anyone?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bummer. Total drogue.

Is that the new KC-46, or is that a KC-10? Can't see enough of the tail to tell, but it seems awfully big, so I'm leaning towards KC-10

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Definitely a KC-46. The vertical stabilizer would be vertical in the segment that's shown, and the wing-mounted engines are the wrong shape

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Nope, KC-30

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i am actually leaning towards it being a KC-46 (based on the tail end above the boom. But quite hard to tell

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

KC-30. Empennage doesn't taper on the vertical stab side and APU is definitely from the KC-30

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was wondering the same thing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have we identified the -18's I'm going along the road they might be Aussie and they might be meeting up with a KC-30

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The one with the colorful tail is RAAF F/A-18A Hornet A21-18.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

KC-46. As the camera sweeps back from showing the tail it shows no third engine mounted in the vertical fin.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

Definitely not a KC-10

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neither, it's a KC-30

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Its a RAAF KC-30. Derived from the Airbus A330 MRTT. Hornet in the gif are also Aussie.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Here you see the mother feed the two strongest of her roost. Life in the skies is cruel. The unfed fledgling will likely die within the week

I read that in my voice

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

This is the best comment.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read that in David Attenborough's voice

Lmfao. Same...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I read that in Nigel Thornberry's voice.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I read that in Pee-wee Hermans voice.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Okay, I’ll accept that, but just once.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I read that in Steve Irwin’s voice

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read that in my own voice.

8 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Lmfao. I know!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I also read it in this guy's voice.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

More like within a couple hours. Gas guzzlers.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I read that in a pirate voice

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Every time it's done there's a risk.

First rule of a 'ménage à trois' is Don't make eye contact with the other dude!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not gay if it's in a three way

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's only good when everyone's into it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You’re doing it wrong; a confident heterodude could look the other guy in the eye and keep it hard without questioning his own identity.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Other dude's face

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, the ancient Roman shit-gibbon attempting a display of dominance. Classic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've heard it's like trying to put a condom on an erect Usain Bolt as he runs at full speed toward you...

8 years ago | Likes 979 Dislikes 8

shouldnt be that hard with good communication and coordination right? tho i never flown a jet fighter so what do i know

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My only experience of this is in DCS, but it requires some amazingly steady flying to pull off even there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It looks more like trying to stick an erect penis in Usain Bolt as he runs away from you

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I've heard pouring water out your car window while a guy in the car behind you catches everything in a cup

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What kind of people are you talking with?

maybe as he runs beside you...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So that's why he smile's so much, when he's running.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Just like how divers use their hands to break the water before splash down a runners erection can cut through thick air currents.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

More like trying to fuck Usain Bolt in the ass while he running away from you

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

But the planes are going at the same speed. So, no

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Can confirm.

8 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 1

I hate to ask, but, refuelling or......?

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

That'd be telling.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Way easier than trying to get it on him flaccid, trust me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to talk to the pilot who’s done both

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now that is a sentence I did not expect at 9:46am.

But you're running just as fast as him

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

# Running just as fast as we caaaan, holding onto one another's hands #

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And the condom is rigid and conical

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

And way larger than his erect member and he's trying to hit the condom too so it's a group effort.
