I love Lost in Translation. Best start to a movie ever

I would probably count Groundhog day as one about loneliness toi, at some point

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not that he should now, but... how the hell did Jim Carrey never play the Joker?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because he already played The Riddler.

I was trying to string the words into something coherent until i read the title, geez i make my life too difficult

Castaway on the moon would be a nice addition to that list.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also I watched and loved all of these... they're amongst my favourite movies... weird.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorites. It kills me every time.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fucks me up bc I lost the love of my life & I would love to forget it all to remove the pain of not having her, but also would do it all agn

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also: Silent Running.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Martian. Although the book emphasized the austere loneliness more

Chungking Express is one of my all time favourites. I used to watch every time after a break-up.

Let me tell you about a film called I am Legend.

#3 Thank you for choosing Tarkovsky's version (though I also like Soderbergh's).

Especially the always underrated ones from Wong Kar Wai.

#2 is that Rodney, Rodders, the Rodster?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably more accurate to say these movies deal with loneliness among other things than that they're strictly about it

5 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 4

Right. Loneliness <> Being Alone

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Not sure I entirely agree that "Into the wild" is a film about loneliness. It's the story of a person who wanted to be alone/detached.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Glad you agree with me then

#16 This movie really messed me up for a while. Found myself watching and rewatching over and over. Great movie.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Great movie on every single level.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yann Tiersen did an amazing job with the music in Amelie.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So did Eddie Vedder with Into The Wild.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That new Charlie Kaufman movie too

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm thinking of ending things. That shit hit me really hard . My mother had just passed so the scenes with the family were excruciating.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But still very much worth a watch in my opinion.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah dude for sure, such a good director

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so bleak, but really good

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree. I think it's no different from other Kaufman works in that regard. I can understand not liking thr tonal shift at the end...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aside from that though another solid film from Kaufman IMO

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
