I had a cat when I was growing up who was a stray we adopted. He was named Tiberius, because when we found him, he was Roamin'.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My second dog’s name was Mochi, but my mom spelled her name wrong on the tag so we had to call her Moshi instead. She was crazy. RIP

My cats are Willow and Nia. Nia is a tuxie with an all black face that makes her eyes look bright. "Nia" is a Welsh name meaning "bright." >

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Willow started out all white and turned into a tortie-point. As a kitten, her paws started turning grey and looked like pussy willow buds.

4 years ago | Likes 137 Dislikes 1

My brother had a cat named Charles Barkley The Cat. Amazing

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's pretty good. Had a cat named Queen LaQueefa. We went between Queeny and Queefy.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not Queef?

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Mines Shadow. He constantly follows behind me ever since he was kitten. Dart was also an option as he'd dart in & out of rooms a lot.

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

That was the name of my first dog. She knew her name but she rarely came when we called for her. She was a rebel and obsessed with food

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here he is sunbathing.

❤️

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Our youngest is that color. Thought he was black the first 3 months we had him. He laid in the sun and we discovered he's 'secretly brown'.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When i got mine all his paperwork said he was a girl and they had a pink collar on him. 3 months later his balls dropped.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh goodness! Did you change her name? What is it??? (Ours is Monty.) (AKA Stinkerbutt.)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It took a few days for me to decide on a name. As I was looking to see if he had any habits/quirks to base it off of. Originally, i was 1/

My cat was named Scifi but pronounced Skiffy in reference to the ridiculous SyFy channel name change.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good. Screw that channel and their cancelations of amazing shows around season 3!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our boys Noah and Tommi (pronounced just like "Tommy") in a kitchen portrait I call "Great Expectations".

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

They're adorable. What is the poster behind them?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Terrible names. I would be hungry ALL the time if I gave food names

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Technically, they are "Turd Sandwich" and "Twat Waffle," but we use the shorter versions in polite company.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just started fostering kittens and we have Cheddar, Pepperjack, and Gouda.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

No Bleu?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would've worked for a Russian Blue!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do you pronounce Gouda?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Goo-duh

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How-dah, I hope.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

American pronunciation is goo-duh. And he's a good-a boy, so it fits!

If you want to hear the Dutch pronunciation: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b5/315_Gouda.ogg

Like I said!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You want your dog to have a name that is easy to call... Cats names don't matter so much.

4 years ago | Likes 298 Dislikes 4

With proper training three of my four cats come 90% of the time. The last one is a kitten and almost there. Simple is better with cats.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My cats both knew thier own names. If you called one only the one you called would come (except around food time)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well typically you settle on a 1 or 2 syllable nickname regardless of the length of the full name.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All my cats and my old roommates have come over when I've called. Finger snaps too...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. You name your cat the most normal name and he'd still look at you like you're an idiot if you try to call them. So why not have fun?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My corgi's name is Sir Arthur Pendragon Lents-Parker. We just call him Artie. Or Stubhub.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Archie. Also Archibald. And fat boy for our corgi. They are chunky.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Research has shown that cats do know their names, but--just as we suspected all along--simply choose to ignore us

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why my dogs have food as their middle names! Magdeline Waffles and Kevin Pancakes.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's actually been studies the prove cat's not only know their name but respond to it at the same level as dogs.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Friend's dad called their dog Stains...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My cat doesn’t even know her name. Can’t blame her since I’ve called her hundreds of names over the 16 years together

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I call my cat by all sorts of names. Doesn't listen to any of them.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They know their own names. They just don’t like you enough to respond.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Almost every cat I've ever had has come when I called their name (if they feel like it).

4 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

The trick is to only call them when they feel like coming.

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I only call my cat when it's feeding time. Still only about 60% effective.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just like my ex.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As if a cat would respond when you call their name! (Just kidding. My cats responded some of the time.)

4 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

Simple. Name the cat Pspspsps.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My cat almost always responds if I say her name or meow at her! Only will run to me if I've got food in hand though

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cats respond. They don't obey...

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine always look over at least.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sixty percent of the time it works every time. Kinda...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"some"... true cats there

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I gave my dog a name I thought was cool, and now my family calls him cholo cause they can't properly say his name ?
