Explanation: The Drukhari (Aeldarix malum) (pronounced Druh-KAR-ee) or "Dark Ones" in the Aeldari Lexicon, also known to outsiders as the Dark Eldar, are a forsaken and corrupt Aeldari kindred, the sadistic, malicious counterparts of the Asuryani. Like their cousins of the craftworlds, the Drukhari are an ancient and highly advanced alien race of fey humanoids.

Fun Fact: While the Drukhari regularly use the pain and suffering of others to extend their lives (and heal themselves) to keep by She Who Thrists aka Slaanesh, it has been shown in the events of Lelith Hesperax by Mike Brooks that such a connection can be broken by proximity to Yvraine.

I can't remember which book it was in, but there was a discussion between a Dhrukari and Aeldari, though IIRC it was before GW started using those trademarkable names. Paraphrased: "You call us 'Dark.' We are the TRUE Eldar. WE are the ones who retain the nature of our race, our culture! It is YOU acetic fools who have changed yourselves, who are something different, broken, obscene!"

I love how a simple misunderstanding of the lore importantce of specific relics slapped on as "equipment" by funnily enough "Relic Studios." evolved into meme that blood ravens are "gifted" important and powerful weapons and armor for their service to other chapters that would never give them up willingly became them stealing anything not bolted down. As far as I can tell. (haven't played beyond 2 or memes.) Blood ravens are at this point cannonicaly artifact/tomb raiders.

To no surprise their lore is kept fairly thin based on they need to be an "Every mans" faction with an unknown genseed/primarch. Beyond the very obvious hint that their chapter is burdened with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and secrets and and a disturbingly large number of psychers in their rank the implications as to who & their color scheme of red makes its obvious because...of the implication. They also have a nasty habbit to become paranoid knowledge seekers in a cthulu gone mad way
