SengirArchangel
"Now all I have to do is walk a mile to get this Tauros"
Polarbeardog
Nice! Now you can play for at least 30 minutes.
rockriverape
Watts people, watts. Learn it. Amp hours don't mean much on their own.
FatLittleTeemo
So uhh..how long does this gives you, no knowledge about these things, how much does it cost
KingJakers
Holy shit those are cumbersome, like old school 18 volt portacable
TotallyOriginalName
I have a 20 000 mA batteri. It weights like half a kilo and it can charge by sunpower.
onemilliondollars
Cant wait to look at the "server problem" picture for 60+hours!
Trespas
Pokemon Go players dealing with the issues Ingress players delt with earlier. Just get 20 Ah Anker powercore, those are small and awesome.
MostValuableDickbutt
What kind of batteries are these? Electric powertool batteries (in Australia) don't have USB ports
TheDarkNerd
Neither do these. The battery on the right has an attachment on it that basically turns it into a portable USB charger.
initialo
.... and the usb adapter is now out of stock online....
dergunrider
That'll get you 3 hours. Tops.
luke33221
I do the exact same thing with my 20V porter cable tools. One battery lasts me more than a day
fuckbeans
FOUR amp/hours?! My Anker does 16 and fits in my pocket!
DICKEATER666
Huh, that's actually pretty resourceful of you. I should do the same.
pookieeatworld
Now there's going to be a run on power tool batteries and adapters...
Talisker10
Yes you should, DICKEATER666
benjahmenvt
I actually laughed pretty hard. Don't ask why.
J0joTheIdiotCircusBoy
As did I
KimJongSpoon
Why?
JRHollywood
I know why, because it was funny ????
oakandpine
Thanks!
Buckbeak1486
How much are the adaptors and batteries?
IAmTheBob
How much for the adapter? Link? Halp! @OP
IAmTheBob
It's out of stock online :c
Doublegood
Make them look like Pokéballs and wear them on a belt
TinnyOctopus
He's even got a full party. Nice!
newuser656
this man can finally walk to mexico using pokemon go
NameNotVerified
Get a solar panel or better yet - an activ-motion dynamo for walking
LesbianTrappedInManBody
They're not 100 efficient. You'd still die but slower
NameNotVerified
If you ran or did lots of walking then you could get enough surely? and powersave mode too. And @houpbajoup is also right
RogueAndPeasantSlave
Such is life.
TankEngineer
So like the Usain Bolt of Dying
opikal
That's what she said
uhhhnowwhat
I have a solar charger. Works wonders!
whorrid
What kind? I've been looking into a few lithium/solar hybrids.
BANANAFLAKE
I play from my car. There are places where you can just coast to hatch eggs. And my car does all the charging too.
BANANAFLAKE
You learn a lot of things from having played Ingress before hand. And most of the Ingress portals are Pokéstops.
JavaGot
Sooner or later, someone is gonna have the idea of charging stations at the Gyms and Pokestops....
Threewisemen
I.....need to see if my power tool batteries do this...
houtaku
Need a longer cord.
oakandpine
Have one, wife has it.
TheLordKanti
And a backpack.
YouHadMeAtHell
Canadian patiently waiting for it to be released here: does the game use up a lot data?
oakandpine
Minimal data 3 full days of play, 148mb used
Oban
Ive been using my phone as a hotspot for my girlfriend and I for 3 full days of playing. Only about 150 mb used.
ampzilla
Not so much data as battery life. Mine was dropping by 2% every few seconds. I bought an ingress official battery pack though and it's great
Goodwolf
I get pretty decent battery life by turning the AR part off. Like 6+ hours.
ClonePH
Hahahaha :D
spderweb
But what about the data plan?
ryu2065
Found my local Grocery store (Krogers) had a cell phone section, an in it had a $20 phone with unlimited data plan... im okay my decision
oakandpine
Pokemon go uses minimal data
houtaku
Especially if you download your local map data in the Google Maps app.
FishingForConversation
I've heard that this doesn't work. Can't confirm personally
LZYRMN
How many times can you charge with that? Capacity? Might be a good travel battery idea.
oakandpine
Each 4ah battery holds about 1 1/2 full phone charges . My phone being 2600 mah = 2.6ah
DustyAyres
You're forgetting about the voltage difference. 3.7V phone vs 18V drill. The drill batteries have about 7 times the capacity of the phone.
LZYRMN
Wouldn't that fry the battery?
Geo80
4.0Ah? So like 4000mAh, which is like 30% to 50% larger that the average smart phone battery. Why is it so huge?
Zelko13
A lot cheaper to make a less efficient battery and saving weight isn't a concern on a drill as much as a cell phone.
SloMoHippo
they run on 18V, while your smartphone battery runs at 3,8V. And they can put out higher amperes (and therefore power) then a smarhphone.
TheThing1986
Now if you could solve the WiFi problen... 10GB is not enough....thanks phone obligatory phone company!
errrikblack
Grandfathered into ATT unlimited data. I'll never ever get rid of ATT for that reason
SlaktRein
How is 10GB not enough!?!
SlaktRein
Pressed enter on accdent, sorry. Ive only used 100mb and im lvl 14 already.
Moghul
I've used like 150mb since it came out. How much are you playing that you used 10x?!
Lurd
Same, less than 100MB for three days of quite intensive use.
illtakethingsthatneverhappenedfor200alex
Seriously I've been saying this all day to coworkers, I have literally used 247 mb since Thursday and I have been on constantly
IPostFalseFacts
I have no clue. I have used basically no data and I'm level 20...
jaromyr
I feel that post was to say your LVL 20 +1 for probably all your pidgey
IPostFalseFacts
Plenty of pidgey. Just trying to push the point across that this game uses little data.
WitchoftheWilds
Unlimited data on sprint, hells yeah.
RoyalBloodlinee
I've used more data on imgur than I have pokemon go, and I rarely imgur while out of the house....
SmokinAces
Hell yeah for unlimited data
errrikblack
Grandfathered into ATT unlimited data. I'll never ever get rid of ATT for that reason
Advicious
I just have the new unlimited plan.
ZeroButler
Bet you get a crap ton of calls for "new/better deals" huh lol
pagliacci323
Same
DiedAndHauntingImgur
I had it running for 5 hours straight and use 117 MB. You're doing something wrong man.
timberwolf7869
Go to google maps and download an offline map of the local area, saves a lot of data
aquaku
eh, Google engineer said that this doesn't work https://twitter.com/samthor/status/752382144371003392 but some users are reporting it does
SirSage
Should I save a really zoomed in map of my neighborhood or can I do my whole city? Will it still work if I save a big map?
CrustyJohnson
It is an option under google maps settings, it shows you the area it will save, usually the size of a small city
Ravic43
How does that save data? Yiu still need the app active to trigger pokemon encounters
CrustyJohnson
Right but the only time the app uses data is when it contacts the servers (gray pokeball spinning)
CrustyJohnson
The app uses google maps, which has to download your local area as you go, unless you downloaded it previously
GenoBeam
Canada. 500mb plans are common. Fuck yeah!
TheDarkNerd
200mb Koodo plan, if I attempt to change my plan, the price I'm paying now will only get me 100mb.
GenoBeam
Yeah that's rough. Hopefully someday we'll catch up in terms of what providers offer. :/
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
That should be enough for about two weeks of continoues use.
oakandpine
Not sure, but it's a lot!
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
It doesn't seem like a brand new phone, so I'm guessing 2.2 Ah = 11 charges. Battery life ~ 8 hours. That's ~100 hours total.
SterlingArcherSecretAgent
(including the phone's initial charge, of course.) So maybe two weeks was a bit too much, depending on how much it's used per day.
FireBreathingStockBroker
Annnnd...... Now I'm going to home depot
MyNameIsJesusAndIStealHubcapsFromCars
these probably aren't cheaper than decent backup batteries.
spartan512
It's a good option for people that already have an army of tool batteries tho! I can't imagine the adapter costs much
MyNameIsJesusAndIStealHubcapsFromCars
oh yeah, for sure. if you've already got the batteries, go for it. just not worth buying a bunch of $XXL$ for drill batteries.
MyNameIsJesusAndIStealHubcapsFromCars
lol ignore that for
demizu
It's called a stepdown or Buck converter. And power tool companies will charge you. But really a large USB powerbank will beat this.
IAmTheBob
Allllso not sold in stores. Only online and they're sold out on the Home Depot website.
