Mom's Gingerbread House 2015

The shoe is made of gingerbread. She molded the dough and then baked it that way to keep it's shape.

The shoe also has various windows around it made with crushed candy and then melted when the gingerbread bakes.

The shoe is filled with Christmas lights. Usually she just uses a lightbulb, but she tried something different this year to get the light to reach all the way up the shoe.

The river is made similarly to the window, just melted crushed candy, and poured onto the tin foil. She originally covers the wooden base before putting anything on it with tin foil so she can use the base next year.

Most years she uses hot glue to keep the gingerbread pieces together and then uses frosting to attach all the decorations and accessories. This year, she only used frosting for the whole thing!!

The old woman is playing the banjo. My mom created a backstory saying that the banjo calmed the children. There's a story for each child.

Kid ice fishing. She used a lemon twizzler piece for the string. You can see chocolate covered pretzels to the left making the railing for the staircase.

These kids are supposed to be decorating. My mom said that the kid in the back was slacking off and causing trouble.

My mom added a gingerbread cookie candy to the top of the gingerbread house. She added a little cowboy had to him.
