Whales....

Orcas eat baby humpback whales, they can't do that if they are dead from starvation

I've always loved humpback whales since the day I did a "book report" in them in first grade. Such nice, peaceful, and curious creatures.

They probably want to make into the good place, wait shit

Maybe the Orcas were being dicks (shrugs)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do the humpbacks have sex with the rescued animals later back at their apartment?

Damn.... racism shows its ugly face again

Everybody hates a bully.

Orcas are fucking dicks

Maybe humpbacks are full of love, maybe they are full of spite.

It's a battle of rich history from long ago

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because that's what heros do. Do good and don't even ask for fake internet points

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

one way to decrease the numbers of praditors is to kill them by hunger , way to go whales

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're against the Cabal

fish are friends not food

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a feud that started over 100 years ago between the Humpbacks and Orcas. The Orcas supposedly stole one of the Humpbacks hogs in 1878

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw a baby humpback washed up on the shore. Killer whale only ate the eyes and the tongue. They are jerks.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

because orcas are assholes

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because Orcas aren’t whales, they are porpoises. Also, the word orca means whale killer. As in orcas do actively hunt/stalk/kill most whales

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they fucking hate Orcas (if they’re able to hate). They are the only predators (except humans) who can hurt them or hunt their young

6 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Yeah they're probably smart enough to specifically spite Orcas

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I've come to the conclusion that humpbacks are racists.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because they are smarter then people who kill each other, other species, and the planet we live on. All for greed and power

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The last part is such BS. Of course no source is provided but anyone who took HS biology should know why this benefits them.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Orcas are predators; they compete for resources and they prey on young whales. Why wouldn't animals develop hostile instincts towards them?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is like saying, "Elephants like to kick Lion's asses but nobody can figure out why!" get fucking real.

QI once told me that Killer Whale is a mistranslation from Spanish and that in Spanish they're called Whale Killer(s). Can anyone confirm?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Whale killers was the original wording but that got flipped around.

That's my favorite Star Trek movie, no joke, I don't care that's it's kinda corny. It's so much fun!

My favourite moment is when Spock neck pinches the punk with the obnoxiously loud music.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It had a lotta good moments in it, plus you can tell they had fun making it, which always makes it better

I was going to call bs on you. My bad. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/what-humpback-whales-teach-us-compassion-180964545/

Like seriously, have these guys not had any classes on natural selection or read books by Richard Dawkins? Altruism is a man-made fantasy.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just because an opinion is in a respected publication doesn't instantly validate it. I read it, I'm incredulous, what are they thinking?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m not necessarily claiming “altruism,” but the behavior has been observed.

Used to live in the country side of MN and our cats were stupidly amazing hunters. We had teachers/neighbors that would BORROW our cats...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to clear out mice/rodents and the cats would leave the bodies on their decks in little lines. All self taught behaviour. Very primp/proper..

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When we moved to a city we still let them outside (got the collars/chips) and cleared out the local bird population for like 6 blocks...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seagulls/pigeons/crows w/e. We put them on our GF's farm where they protect chickens (they havent killed one yet?) and clear out barn mice.

My aunt lets them into her house (first time ever she let cats in her house) and she loves them. Amazing cats, love me to death.
