14. Starving it is
15. Just added this event to my game - If the player is idle for too long, The Developer assumes you're sleeping and spawns a gravity-propelled wake-up device. Do you like this little Easter egg?
P.S. If you enjoyed this dump, you’ll probably love the wacky humor of my game. If you’d like to support small indie devs, adding it to your wishlist would be truly appreciated: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_Or_Youll_Delete_The_Multiverse/

#8 Sometimes it makes sense to pre-order, though not terribly often. For example, I loved the original Mass Effect and pre-ordered the second and third games knowing it was reasonably likely I'd love those, too, and got some day 1 DLC for free in the process.
By the same token, I pre-ordered Andromeda, got much less impressive pre-order freebies, and the game didn't quite hold up...
RitzBitz25
I pre-ordered pokemon Violet. I will never pre-order a game again.
TheseusGames
#12 Ooops, excuse me, I mean AAAA games

Is the reloading from your game as well? The first one was my favorite
Durahl
#1 For sure easier said than done but - IMHO - the safest way to get into it would be to step onto the left track once the rear end has cleared it followed by a brave jump into the Cab one it rotates in.
imakesoap
#5 for a very muscle-y guy, birdman is surprisingly very flexible. Amazing
xurs
#6 Well, I read Yuval Noah Harari's book about that and dunno, considering how much they had to work for it.
quincythomasthedisappointing
#1 id say where’s osha, but im pretty sure that’s gone by now.

#8 I've only done two pre-orders in my life. Both were Final Fantasy 7. Remake and Rebirth with statues. No regrets.

#8 I pre-order for 2 main reasons. To support the developers and when I already know I'm going to like the game. Only regretted it a single time.
onecowboytoo
$5.20 is an unusual price.

What if I want a handy from leftie? Leftie is bestie.

#8 It had a purpose for me in the past - My internet was not great, and pre-ordering meant I could preload the game. Now I have gigabit fiber, so downloading even a large game like Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't take long.
FurtiveGlancer
Guess they could have waited for the diesel to run out...

DeadeicPrints
There are 2 reasons I'll pre-order. 1) the pre-order copy comes with extra stuff. Skins/weapons etc. 2) i have the money now, I don't know if I'll have the money on release.
DonkeyGoat
#8 No, I pre-order games because I'm a sucker who allows himself to be hyped up and the idea of playing it a little early and getting some bonus content makes me forget that I always regret pre-ordering something.
PotOfJam
I don't see any issue in pre order if it is something you enjoy, I wouldn't pre order based on no information, NMS was a prime example (even though they have surpassed and made up for it 10x over). That said, if Elite Dangerous didn't have the thousands of backers it did, on Kickstarter, it wouldn't have been made.
DonkeyGoat
I wouldn't really count crowd funding as a preorder. But every time I've preordered a game I've been vastly disappointed, with one exception and that was for someone else.
PotOfJam
Well I technically pre ordered Satisfactory, and I have over a thousand hours in it, I have pre ordered some games that I wasn't a fan of, and I have brought games well after release that I didn't enjoy... So yeah, I don't think pe-ordering is a bad thing.

#1 Risky business! I would probably have let it run out of whatever it is running on.

#8 I've only pre-ordered Subnautica because I knew I absolutely wanted it, I saved money doing it, and I didn't want to wait for a sale.
poscduke
I pre-ordered Mass Effect 3 but back then you needed the physical media.
dashers
Spore was the last game I pre-ordered. Possibly the last game I bought in a shop too. Never again to preorder.
minipancho94
Yea there's 3 criteria for me to pre order a game. It's a series I collect and there's a physical reward for it. The discount is worth it and I'm confident/have already played it to know its worth, or it's in early access and there's enough content to be worth its price.
vcgetdown
I preorder for these two conditions if both are met: game series or developer known to make games I like, and two: a steel book. I love steel books that's how they get me
MinimumContributor
Sometimes you get bonus weapons/skins/etc when you preorder.
astralfields
Yes, but that's not a good thing.
barnwolf
I pre-ordered Star Citizen because I liked that sort of game, and recently we'd only been getting FPS games. I kinda regret it now, the gameplay and playability is definitely not up to par. Especially considering the ridiculously long development cycle.
barnwolf
Like I grew up on flight sims and starcraft. But these days all we get are new FPS games, battle royal, extraction shooters, ect...
Imaynotbehere4long
Only if you ignore the entire indie scene and just focus on AAA games.

#4 Sorry, I could only overlook personality for a hookup, but not for anything meaningful. I'm asocial under the best cricumstances, having to tip toe and mask around people is incredibly taxing.

PauliePlaysPoorly
Pre-order? Nah, wait til it's on sale, the bugs should be ironed out by then.
dashers
Maybe, free on Epic is usually the best time.
TheseusGames
Yeah, I usually like to go see movies while they are in the cinema, but for games I wait for a month or two, unless the developer is REALLY reliable, but who knows. (I had great time with RDR2 for example and GTA VI will probably be great on Day 1)
WellWellWellLookWhoItIs
I usually wait a year or four for the game of the year bundle with all the bug fixes, patches, and dlc included. I did make an exception for Baldur’s Gate 3.
aabcdort
I'll preorder anything by fromsoft without hesitation or regret, this year I'm planning on pre-ordering Borderlands 4 and GTA 6, but I do my best to resist preorders in general.
MuffinProof
Yeah, BL4 might be my 2nd ever pre-order. First one was the Pre-Sequel. I just love the series so much. No, wait. I think I pre-purchased Kingdoms of Amalur: RE Reckoning.
aabcdort
Yeah, I've loved all the Borderlands games dearly, even wonderlands with its absolute ripoff DLC. The new gameplay trailer has me pretty pumped but I have to wait til September. Gonna be a long year. Kingdoms was a great little game, had a lot of potential for a new IP, not really sure what happened to it.
MuffinProof
Financial shit. But the re-reckoning fixed a lot, plus added a new story DLC.
I just finished FF7 Rebirth and don't know what to play.
amp99
#1 You don't want to know what happens when it hits 16 turns to the right...
AlternateParent
There's no way that's accurate. It spins 5 or 6 times in just the minute this video is. I highly doubt that it has only been spinning for less than 2 minutes before someone started recording
Pez5150
You have a hard time with sarcasm don't ya?

No, no no, its righty-tighty, lefty loosey.

That's only for one of your bike's pedals, he saved it from locking so tight, he'd need pliers to loosen it again.

Every other post here ends up being an ad nowadays
BananaForScaIe
Meh, this one is actual content not just "I found this cool thing, oops it was mine all along".
anjeleyezjr
This one has been doing some solid dumps with an ad at the end for awhile now.
BananaForScaIe
Alright, fair enough. My personal opinion is if it's a solid dump it's a solid dump. I rarely read dump text anyway.
That said, if you're against ads, this obviously is, so I won't argue. Also, the user is an actual, real, imgur member not a drive-by bot (almost a decade here).
anjeleyezjr
I wasn't complaining. It's an unobtrusive add, and the name of the game has led to some funny interactions with the poster in the past. I would definitely press the button.
BananaForScaIe
Oh I didn't think you were complaining, sorry if it came out like you were being critical! Just if someone's gonna be a community member, and also put in the work to make a decent dump, I don't mind a link but understand those who disagree (cause could easily become bot-driven slippery slope!).
djarcas
#15 No. Don't waste time implementing features that only occur when the player isn't there. I had to argue against 'crowds in a AAA racing game booing you if you aren't going anywhere', on the basis that the player has gone to the loo. Good for if anyone is streaming the game, I guess tho?
JDHannan
Hundreds of video games have something like this, both Mario 64 and Sonic games have them sit then lie down if the player doesn't move.
JCBalance
Most of Sonic's entire personality in the first game is when you're standing still not doing anything. You learn that he's an impatient wise ass.
TheseusGames
While I agree, in my game there is a sign that tells you that this might happen (it has some meta elements) so it's kind of a reward for players that want to wait and see what happens. And it took me less then an hour to implement. But overall you are right and I wouldn't do anything more complex that this.
BananaForScaIe
Whotf downvotes a dev having fun IN THEIR GAME for THEIR USERS?
Good on you devvy dude, good on you! Also, personally, as someone who professionally wrote easter eggs into movies for the crazies on YouTube to go through frame by frame, and then create thousands of videos analyzing them?
These things *can* actually make a difference, so it's smart, solid marketing, low effort, potentially high reward, and makes you (and me) happy!
TheseusGames
I don't think anyone is downvoting but thanks for adding your opinion. I never tought it could be a marketing move, but something like that can go viral. Can you share what have you worked on or link to an Eater Egg of yours? I'm sooo sooo curious now!!! :)
BananaForScaIe
You were at 0! And Bright was my first "big" one, so much graffiti and backstory and cultural commentary in the background/ads/etc. Even the layouts of one of the buildings is from a famous video game :)
TheseusGames
Ahh amazing : ) I have been extra on local movies shot around here and I love just watching the little detail the film crew add. In some scene some objects are not even in frame and people still took the time to add them. You have my respect for trying to come up with stuff like this :)
n3ckr0mantic
Jesus fuck. #1 I thought the risk was just getting clobbered by the spinning arm. Dude almost got torqued into red jelly.
holmestrix
The number of safety systems that would have to be bypassed to have an uncontrolled machine is high.
xurs
I've played enough platformers to see that there's plenty of time to enter on each rotation, just have to time it well.
LyvPhreeOarDye
Yeah, almost lost his life to save time and some diesel
AnyRandomBob
Yep! No job is worth risking my life. I'd let that bitch run out of gas. Check on it tomorrow.
Higure
I have played enough video games. I would ace this.

Just get close, look at the cockpit and press e. I've seen it done by fighter pilots all the time.

i thought for sure there has to be an unconscious operator still in the excavator or something, to literally risk your life getting in there. otherwise i'd just set up a perimeter and wait until the machine runs out of power, like wtf?!

100% staged for internet points too. Would have been a terrible thing to die for.

Hey, you're not bad. But the biggest hint is how he chooses to approach an out of control piece of heavy machinery wearing safety plaid.
Imtoolazytothinkofaname
Hey, you know what they say in the industry. Safety third.
HydraNine
I know, right? Just go get a beer and come back when it's off. Easy peasy.
flukeysnail
Our machines usually get filled up every two days or so of throttled up work, they aren't nearly as big, and this one is probably just idling. I agree with you, I'm just saying it's going to be a lot more than one beer.
ThrashAndChemistry
More than one beer? Even more of a reason.
HydraNine
I didn't specify the size of the beer. :P
