only 3 or 4 white tigers have ever been seen like that in the wild, its a mutation which is not helpful for tigers in the jungle, hence why

They're looking at his/her butt/privates, not picking them up by the tail. And scruffing is very natural, especially for cubs.

Actually, that's how momma cats pick up their cubs/kittens. So it would be more comforting/safe than just picking them up.
