If you looked around while under the stairs, you would notice this code above the door. We don't know how to decipher it. Some help?

My friends moved into a house and found this safe under their stair case.
The previous home owner didn't know how to get into it as it was there when they lived there.

I'm going to hazard a guess, that it is left three turns to 80, right two turns to 59, left to 27.
