Music used to be so good! Current artists are talented but they are so hemmed in. The industry doesn't allow creativity anymore. It's about looks and marketability.

Seriously, a lot. Probably most of them. The problem is maintaining that band. More people=more complexity. A smaller band is easier to rehearse, easier to have everyone show up, easier to get paid, everything is easier. Have you ever tried to get ten people to show up once a week to something consistently? It's a fuckin nightmare.
If you have danced in a club in the last 40 years, you very likely danced to a disco beat. Disco is alive and well, it just changed a bit. But the soul of dance music is all disco baby. Disco did suffer from over exposure and a lot of acts being forced to play it. And the backlash and death of disco was more of a rejection of industrialized music. That is why 80s music is so different, it was a full on free for all. Then we sold out again in the 90s, and all we have is... that.
To say that all club music is disco is a wild take. I'll give you that there is a spirit similar to disco, though. Even that is a bit of a stretch. Every decade has its underground scene and it's favorite genre with breakout stars. The underground of the late 80s became the mega stars I'd the 90s. The underground of the 90s broke out in the aughts. The cycle continues. Unless you come up with hard data proving otherwise, I will not say one era sold out more than another. (1/2)
90s grunge was obsessed with avoiding selling out to the point of suicide. But a straight pop star's only goal is selling records, so they did. The streaming revolution in the late aughts changes how bands could make money, and certainly shifted the power dynamics. The creativity never stopped, though.
90s club music is all disco recycled disco beats. I am old enough to have been in HS in the early 90s. This is something that was discussed by a bunch of people in the early 00s, it also helps that most of music producers in the 90s were old disco people. And its not the spirit it is the music theory, the melody on top of it is not disco.
