We have had it for about 5 months only. So far it's awesome though. Only problem is you have to rearrange the filling fairly often.

That sounds like a regular bean bag then... has it gotten "flatter" over time? Less fluffy?

No not at all. You just have to shift the stuffing around so the seat shape fits your preference. Stuffing stays very nice.
