I'm suffering from severe depression. Back in June I had a mental breakdown, which caused me to lose my job, my home, and one of my best friends. I was sent to a hospital to be helped with my depression. Since then I've been trying to find a job, make therapy sessions, and get back on my feet. My dad gave me his camper for me and my dog to stay in but he is losing patience. I'm almost out of money to keep me and my dog fed. I've resorted to not eating so that my dog can eat. My dad has given me to the end of August to find a job and to support myself or else he will take my dog from me, and kick me to the curb. I've got tons of medical bills piling up, totaling to upwards of $12k. I'm signed up for medicaid, but it was issued after the billing period started, so they will not cover it. I don't know what to do. I've been applying to multiple places and following up on all of my applications but can't seem to find a job. I can't pay the medical bills and cant see any option for that. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get back on my feet but all my dad sees is his loser son failing at what he refers to as a "simple task". I have no one else to turn to and see nothing good in the near future. I'm only 20 years old, fresh out of high school, and I've already destroyed my future. I don't know what to do anymore. The only future I see is killing myself but I can't bring that burden on my family and friends. I just needed to vent this. I don't know what I'm gonna do.

You're 20. I'm almost 30 and basically in the same boat. Do something about it now and don't wake up in 10 years still feeling this way

Hey, don't you dare give up!! I know how heavy the depression can be, but you can do this, it doesn't have to be a perfect life.

I know it doesn't feel like it, but things get better. I was in hospital for same reason, working through things now. PM me if you need....

See about an employment agency or ask around for resources at the hospital you were at. Consider a youcaring as a bandaid. 1

Depression makes everything especially hard and dat rejection can really pile up. Hug your pup, you can get through it.

Also, does going bankrupt erase medical debt?

Or the classic "walk into any old construction site with a toolbelt and hard hat and ask to start working"

I dropped out of high school and spent my 21st birthday in prison (not jail). Felony record, wouldn't stop partying and drugging. You (1)

Good advice.

1. Put on your best set of clothes 2. Print off a whole bunch of your resumes 3. Find a mall and walk into every store and ASK for a job.

4. Do the same at every restaurant. 5. Finding a job is your job right now, from when you wake up until you go to bed. Once you get a job...

Start looking for a better job and keep stepping up. No one says you have to keep the job forever, so never stop looking for that better job

Your primary goal right now is income, cut every expense you can and talk to anyone you can in person. Don't act desperate.

It's 2017. Handing in resumes physically *is* acting desperate
