I think of people actually knew how many fail able components and systems are in a modern passenger plane, people wouldn't give a fuck cause Ryanairs got a sale on 9.99 to Amsterdam hun imthere!

We have standards and regulations so that individual passengers don't have to be fucking aerospace engineers inspecting every plane before getting on them.

That is a very clean wheel well! Usually they are so dirty that details aren't visible

At altitude, the temp is only 60° below zero and 2% oxygen... I'm gonna hitch a free ride to Hawaii!!!

“Wheel well stowaways” https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/s/tx8CkFAU27. Photo of one guy falling out of well. Faces of death stuff. Warning.

Sounds like I just need an oxygen tank and a heated blanket

Where's the chair for the stowaway to ride in?

I was thinking hammock, but you do you.

No longer for stowaways, rather it's the new economy class

Since they always freeze to death it's better they stay in a place where they fall off before landing.

You die from hypoxia first.

So.. how does the chair help there?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Keeps you seated in a full upright position.

Aww fuck i dropped my tray table again!

BTW, on most jet planes gear compartment is not just a gear compartment, it is access port for lots of aircraft systems, like hydraulics, air conditioning heat exchangers, etc.

Looks like the perfect place to start playing with buttons /gallery/4Q0jvM0

TBH I don't think any of those would really do much lol, if you expended the APU fire bottle you'd probably delay the flight a few hours depending on maintenance but that's about it

It's a great idea since it will be open when you are working on it and you don't have to worry if you closed the door or not.

Also every opening in a plane compromises it's integrity and requires reinforcements which reduce payload capacity. So the more they combine the functions of the openings, the better. To a certain extent.

737?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A 737 Max to be specific, on earlier versions there is a mechanical computer between the two hydraulic tanks that combines the roll input from the control yokes and the speed brake position to control the roll spoilers. The Max uses fly by wire for the spoilers.
