Meet Cha-Chi, my rat Burrito!

So, Cha-chi is gearing down to the end of her life. As a female rat we did not expect her to live for too long. She has blown us away. She has large tumors under her left arm and above and around her pubic area. She has been like this for months, it wasn't until last night that I realized that they are now causing climbing issues and breathing issues. She has lived a wonderful and spoiled two and a half years. Within the next couple of days she will make her last visit to the vet. Her beginning started out rough, she didn't get a long with anyone let alone her "litter mate". I put those into quotations because I shortly after I adopted her I found out they found her running on the floor but assumed she was part of the litter. We quick found out that no, she was not, she is in fact a wild rat who later on ate her cage mate.
She doesn't let anyone but me handle her and she has fallen in love with my Pomeranian, they love to cuddle. I used to think she wasn't special but realizing that even though at first she seemed cruel and annoying but with a little TLC, trust and showing her what gentle is she has blossomed into an amazing animal and friend. I will be sad when she gets put down but I will never forget her. She is by far my first Rat and she isn't going to be my last however, she has taught me a lot and I will never forget her. I love my little Cha-chi. I thank her everyday for blessing me with her spunky and ridiculous life.
