But did he ask for PEANUT m&m's???

Those look like peanut M&Ms. OP, I hope you discussed the severity of this insolent behavior with management.

In The Woodlands, eh? I approve.

I call shenanigans

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is so olddddd

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I know, right? We saw this yesterday!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That wasnt you.

12 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Someone else posted this last year though.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had to book a block of rooms at the Woodlands for the TV show I work on. They cost maaaad $$$$.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I call FAKE

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Small things like that - being mindful to put the customer first, even when the requests are crazy - is what will keep people coming back.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I too love pictures of bacon

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You better have left them some great reviews and generous tips!

12 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 1

This picture set *is* a great review. ;)

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember the last time this was posted, but its still great.

I need that picture over my fireplace.. If I had a fireplace to put it over

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this hotel by any chance in The Woodlands, Texas?

12 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep!

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine 4 red M&Ms on the edge of a cliff...

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why did i read racoon instead of bacon?

12 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Excellent question, my friend. As a veterinarian, I don't have the answer. Also, I'm not a veterinarian.

12 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Why did I read read instead of read? Why is English so fucking overcomplicated? These are the questions that need answers.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope you tipped housekeeping extremely well for such amazing service.

12 years ago | Likes 3138 Dislikes 5

Tip me; I upvoted this comment.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

1) OP did not do this. 2) you just restated the title. Bravo bravo

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Where I work it would have been reception that do this. But then, our tips get pooled and split accross the whole company anyway.

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This was probably done by the concierge. Many places have money to spend on guests, to keep them happy. Still tip housekeeping tho!

Tip extremely or stop fucking with the hotel staff.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a housekeeper - Yes and +1 to you for awareness. :)

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having worked in a hotel and seen how grateful the housekeepers are for any sort of tip, I always leave some just for them.

12 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a former hotel desk worker - tip them too. A single dollar can make someone's day. Desk workers almost never get tips.

12 years ago | Likes 463 Dislikes 3

almost all hotel rooms have stationery and envelopes. use one for housekeeping, then drop off front desk when c/o. (many yrs night audit)

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was night audit too. You do the job of a dozen people, but no one ever sees it.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

then go to the laundry room and just start handing out bills

12 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 0

As a FD agent this is the best thing you can do. Just give a ten to the desk and tell them it's for the laundry staff.

12 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

Someone's going to ask sooner or later, how do we know it's going to them and not the FD worker?

12 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Well, that's a fair question. Give it to the Manager on Duty. Most FD would be so impressed and excited to pass it on to laundry...

12 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

how/when do you tip them? like slide cash over when you check out?

12 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

If I've given directions on the phone, many tip when they arrive, and when I clean the lobby some people notice and tip. Others at checkout.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to know this.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeaaah, that's what I'm wondering too. What if they get offended? Do i just slip them a bill and wink? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

12 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

If they're offended or told not to accept tips, just take your money back and give them a hearty thank you instead.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wink suggestively, just to be sure

12 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I never thought of this; are desk workers tip-oriented employees?

12 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Depends, some front desk workers just do check-in & check-out. At smaller places they are front desk/concierge/bell hop. Those are tipped.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Short answer, no. If you never leave the desk, you are unlikely to get tipped. It's more for the valets, bell boys etc.

12 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's what I'd thought, so I was somewhat confused by the comment. I understand the principle, but tip-based employees earn differently.

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It does depend on your hotel. In a smaller hotel the desk clerk does the job of 6 people - so does the night clerk.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why would i tip the person that just sits behind the counter? I would like tips too but i never get any

12 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You only have to tip if hamburger music starts playing in the background

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If that's all they're doing, then don't. But if you see them walking the halls as security and mopping the lobby and delivering extra 1/2

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 pillows, then you know their job is more than just the desk. You tip housekeeping - why not tip the one who cleans everything else?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think this is usually the reception that takes care of this stuff

12 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

(It's a repost)

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

If you're happy with their service, include information about the hotel so they can benefit from the publicity.

12 years ago | Likes 403 Dislikes 0

This has been reposted so many times that the hotel, statistically speaking, has probably burned down since the actual event occurred

12 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's actually kinda sensible, ensures your room has actually been prepared for you. Similar to musician's odd contractual requests

12 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

OOH...I really wanna know what this is about too!

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's to ensure that contracts are being read properly. 4 blue M&M's and 1 red one? That's literally just to ensure that someone's read it.

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ahh I see. I thought there was something particular about the way musicians work, but I guess it's a practice that can be used in any field

As I was the one guy who was sent away from my regular duties to do random shit like this. I can safely say I enjoyed it.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Really? We don't make it worse by having strange demands? I always try to be extra unobtrusive in hotels.
