Made with cemetery violets.
Atlas was impatient with my foraging.
I am now wondering if I took the time to remove the green receptacles, if it would be more floral and less vegetal? This is the case when making dandelion wine.
14 hour steep.
This is just the tea, I’m turning it into syrup later. The color is pH dependent, so when you add acid, it turns bright pink. I like to make “magic” pink lemonade with it. The tea is mostly vegetal with a slight earthy sweetness. Once I add the sugar is just pretty simple syrup. It’s not a great flavor alone, it’s just fun to make. I guess the flavor perception of violets is heavily affected by genetics (like cilantro), so maybe it’s more complex to other palates? Regardless, it’s just fun and I pretend I’m a Druid when I make and use it. Or is that wizard shit? Anyway, stay whimsical.

#3 The jar my wife started yesterday has the greens still on. I do remember her removing the greens when she'd harvest her butterfly pea flower. She'd also make magic lemonade with that.

My favorite flavor!
Bardcrest
is it...just a dye?

I need to try the butterfly pea flower tea I got in a swap. I am not a fan of rose or hibiscus but I love lavender and chamomile. I made lemon verbena tea with some flowers we grew. I liked it enough but not enough to replant and do all the work.
But I should really grow another flower I can turn into tea this summer since I am unemployed.

“Magic” pink lemonade?

I made violet jelly once in North Carolina...it turned out nice. Petals only.

Laurie aka Lori. Pretending to be a Druid is wizard shit. You werent at the beach. It looks like it was trash and tires on the edges of our properties in the woods. You was more than likely going towards Andre the Giants property, later became Donalds property. They kept trash in their backyard.

Yes Laurie aka Lori. That makes some really good nectar for the hummingbird feeders. Yeah, that was u Druid stuff. So, that the hummingbirds would come and stab me with theyre needle noses. How dare we put it out there just to find hummingbirds pretty.
Enomai12
How did you think i knew it was you? I was there at the cabin when you took pictures and made the hummingbird nectar.
Enomai12
Yes Laurie it very attrociously hurts being hit by a hummingbird. Especially everywhere else besides the back of the head. It still hurt maybe not as attrocious

Is cemetery violets their name, or were these delicious flowers munching on dead people?
AtlasHuggedrescuepup
Flowers feeding on the dead. 😊 I suppose I could have been clearer.

I do the same with clitoria ternatea.

That's butterfy pea plant
Pirsquar
Yup. That definitely looks like it's namesake.
RummageSaleBubbler
Yes, yes it does.

You can also freeze the tea into blue ice cubes for your lemonade. Like I do w/ this cocktail:

It has a very... 40k Warp look. Not sure I trust it, being a loyal Sister of the Imperium and all.
