It does not, alcohol does, and alcohol actually disinfects cuts and stuff so is used more. Peroxide just loosens grit and pus from wounds, sometimes the bubbles cause uncomfortable swelling or move the grit into other places that are also tender.
It can make an existing sensation of pain be felt a bit more acutely because of the bubbling and overall oddness of the sensation amplifying your attention to the wound. As far as actually causing pain, not really.
Now I'm thinking of when my dad would use iodine tincture on us if we got scrapes and cuts, when I was a kid. He referred to it as "the hurting medicine," lol. That stuff actually did burn like a motherfucker, although probably more because it has a rubbing alcohol base.

HyPer (heehee) may sting, it may burn, it may feel as though the devil himself has sunk fangs into your flesh, it depends on the wound and personal tolerance. However, DO NOT USE IT TO DISINFECT, PLEASE. It will likely cause additional damage to the affected tissues, and depending on several factors may cause worse scarring. A simple wash with handsoap and water is fine if it's a minor household injury, otherwise use RUBBING ALCOHOL, and then a wound cream like Neosporin under the bandage.
Rubbing alcohol also causes damage to healthy tissues and is not recommended for use on open wounds. Soap & water is a good one, but BZK is the standard antiseptic for household use now.

Basically *any* anti-bacterial is going to kill both good and bad cells, the difference is in effectiveness and other effects. For example; isoproyl alcohol (my personal fav) in will kill everything, delay healing, hurt like hell, cause even MORE damage in higher concentrations, and evaporates so fast it can't really sterilize anything effectively. BZK is the "painless" spray, effective, safe, doesn't destroy all the exposed tissue. But I've got it in my head that pain=working lol

PSA: peroxide is not a disinfectant. It's a debriding agent. The bubbling action helps to remove particulate debris from the wound.
Please remember to disinfect after using peroxide to clear a wound.
