My sister adopted a dog from the Arizona Maricopa county pound today. She was told that the dog had been treated for fleas and ticks and did not have any. We gave him a bath because we were told he was "dirty", only to find that he was infested with ticks. After two tick baths and finally deciding to shave him, this was the result. It's despicable that they let this sweet pup live like this for over a week.
You can see the scabs from where the ticks were on his neck.
His is the third round of what we pulled off by hand after shaving and bathing him.
He's a gorgeous and sweet mannered dog. It makes me so angry that he was treated so poorly.
