#covid19

I honestly don't care if large companies get more money if it means I get that check sooner. I need it. And I need it yesterday.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

But is not giving away money socialism?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They aren’t funding cruise companies and for that I’m glad.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If im going to have to pay that back through future taxes can I just refuse it?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I encourage everyone to go watch the boeing CEOs comments on fox news about how he doesn't actually need a bailout at all

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

HOW, Specifically, is the trillion dollar bailout going to be allocated? WHO, specifically gets what? Any answers? Anybody?

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It's going to be game show where prizes are accorded to who can best fellate the god-emeperor.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How is a loan program that has to be paid back and requires the borrower to use it to retain staff a slush fund? So much stupid here.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

I found the hoarder.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, wouldn't want a job to go back to right?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can check your voter registration at vote.gov

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Why would someone downvote this?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get ready, they'll tell you.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who's tried to explain what's going on... Republicans don't care. They just believe everything they're told bc it's easier.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

The best part is a lot of Americans won’t live to cash it under trumps operation “kill them all to save the stock market”

6 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 39

You get grandma's stimulus check AND inheritance. Double win for Wall Street!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"We drag our feet to react, then say we'll help, send out checks, folks die, can't cash checks.. and we suspend habeus corpus for the rest."

6 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 7

It's almost like corporations are going to use that money to pay workers, suppliers, rent, taxes, insurance, fuel bills, electric bills...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1200 won’t cover the rent or mortgage never mind the bills.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Friendly reminder that the $500 billion corporate loans in the Senate bill is LOANS. All the money these companies take have to be paid back

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Please send me yours since it's so inconsequential to you. Please.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Here’s your measly $1200, go fuck yourself. - US Gov.

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 20

The changes the Dems pushed through to the unemployment program are a hell of a lot better than a measly $1200.

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 8

You need to listen to Dave Ramsey and learn how to work towards an emergency fund. Now we get more inflation since no one has any savings

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah so do big companies.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The republican party only continues to exist by convincing us to vote against our best interest and stoking divisions in our society

6 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 37

You mean like 35 million for an arts theater? There was bullshit on both ends, thank the lobbyists

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 8

Fair point for this instance but one party has been largely responsible for the campaign to remove the social safety in our country

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not just lobbying, it's representatives trying to do things for their districts (or pet projects), even if now is not the fucking time.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The CDC and China's unwillingness to inform the public fucked us. Companies pay people, so stop with the mindless politics.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

Privatised companies are doing the most for finding a cure and providing medical equipment. I'm tired of the braindead "companies bad" shit

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

China put Hubei on lockdown on January 23rd. Every bad decision that followed is on us. We had ample time to prepare.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The kidnapped journalists, lied about records, and knew refused to tell other countries about the crisis and allowed infected to leave.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yet, we knew everything we needed to know. That lockdown was public.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's absolutely not true. We learned what we needed to know 2 months too late because of an oppressive dictatorships mishandlings.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

January 23rd was too late?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The bad decisions started with the lying corrupt dictatorship and is no way the fault of any other countries.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The UK's first plan would have caused 250,000 deaths until they backpedaled. Trump called the pandemic a hoax. Sweden is doing nothing. Etc.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That doesn't take away from the fact that the Chinese governments actions is the direct cause for the outbreak.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For sure. Reckless public policies, especially after SARS.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only Americans could be so ungrateful - to complain about a monetary "privilege" - while most people get nothing for dealing with Covid-19.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

most of us don’t want monetary compensation, we want a broken system to be fixed...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The broken side of the American system doesn't need a fix - but a complete rework. Not to mention the huge debt gathered up to this point...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How many generation and hundreds of years - do you think it would take to cover US's national debt (23 trillion $ and still on the rise)?!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, the COVID-19 situation is suppose to add another 2 trillion $ on top of that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Canadians get $8000, Europeans get 80% of their missed wages, we get $1200 and a huge medical bill.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Same way America = Multiple States (U.S.A), EU = Multiple Countries. And what applies for some countries - doesn't apply for all.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Canada has a population of 37.59 mil and are suppose to get 2K (not 8k), while US has a population of 327.2 Mil. As for EU getting 80%...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2k a month for four months. So.. 8k, like I said.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We'll have to make it through the April riots before we get that May check.

6 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 5

I thought they start mailing April 6th no?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm down.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

April riots bring May bailouts.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Incredible film

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Parasite. It won 4 awards at this year's Oscars

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A Korean film called Parasite

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

One of those films that I feel like I really need to rewatch to understand it, which is an amazing feature

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Biggest issue is there's still no out for working stiffs forced to work for d-bag companies in hazerdous environments. Companies know if 1/

6 years ago | Likes 89 Dislikes 10

someone quits they don't get unemployment. So, employees are forced to keep working, even when they don't want to risk it. Pkg didn't do 2/

6 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

shit for those folks. So, we have a lot of non-essential businesses keeping folks working when they should be isolated. /

6 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

BUT,...the republicans are more evil than the rest! In case u haven’t noticed. As denial runs rampant among the republican voters!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

What good is it doing to justify the level of corruption on side vs the other when there is corruption on both sides

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And I do believe Trump is the most mindless, ignorantly evil and hurtful person who ever ruled

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On their own self interest and getting re-elected. We are all in this together because we are all equally screwed together. Keep perspective

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Sorry but someone had to say it. Have a lovely and healthy day people!

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Be thankful you were going to get anything at all. Fact is corporations and businesses make the country run, have to take care of both.

6 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 43

ooh geez

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

And yet, these big corporations can handle losing a few billion or so out of their banks, to keep the country running.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They have more than enough to run on their own. They make it seem that they're so vital because jobs are on the line, but others are as well

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not like they're going to be doing anything with that money anyways. They haven't for the past few decades, right?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People dont like the reality that if these businesses go down so do all the jobs they provide. Not saying the businesses aren't assholes.

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 4

If a Business goes down it only loses its owners then a new asshole comes in buys the place and creates those very same jobs lost

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Take those cruise ships & even planes If They go bankrupt do u really think the ship themselves will be abandoned? Someone will buy it cheap

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

let those companies fail, they don’t need financial bail outs cut from the backs of workers. Fuck ‘em all, instead bailout the people

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Not usually the case for small businesses. Larger corporate entities can find buyers, but often it's to cannibalize what's left.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Please remember the companies that fucked us during this pandemic. They do not deserve our money and we truly do not need their product.

6 years ago | Likes 1433 Dislikes 37

Conversely, remember the ones that stepped up to help!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so what's going to stop the corrupt administration from giving it to them?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Like who?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People are outraged by this. They will demand these companies suffer. Yet, they will continue to support them. Selfish people suck so bad

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

didtheyhelp.com is our friend in all this

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Do you even realize how many people work for corporations? I meanmake sure they can't use that money for bonuses or stock buying but

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like we remembered last time?

6 years ago | Likes 199 Dislikes 4

We have more time to remember this time since we’re home. For god knows how long. They can’t prosper if we stop buying. They need us.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ONE family buying ONE glass from Walmart isn't gonna make a difference, STAN.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I was thinking we just firebomb a bunch of McDonalds and start shooting Amazon drones?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Have you read what Amazon is doing or are you assuming?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Order from Amazon. Take it down as it comes to the house. "I didn't get my order. Send another." Rinse. Repeat.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh. My local McDonald’s is still open (Drive thru) employing folks and Amazon is hiring 100k employees during this crisis. Pick new targets?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

McDonald's a multil billionare dollar compamy have not offered paid sick leave to their staff, and have no intention to.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Amazon is askimg staff to donate their sick days to those affected and then asked for donations/crowd funding to help cover sick staff.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They are both billion dollar corporations

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Definitely shoulda been mad at Nestle before this.

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I say we set up a guillotine on the national mall and fill the reflecting pool with the heads of the politicians & the heads of their donors

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

More importantly, if we don't allow businesses to fail in capitalism, then we are perverting market forces and incentivizing bad actors.

6 years ago | Likes 209 Dislikes 2

Allowing big businesses to fail in America, that's rich. Best laugh I've had all morning. We'd never do that!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FREAKING THANK YOU! I like Capitalism, but whenever I don't support bailouts, it's hard to explain THIS fact to people.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The argument certain individuals are giving for these bailouts is that the industries are too important to fail, which is illogical because

6 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

a business failing will not end the industry, simply a new business will arise. Take for instance the airline industry; if United airlines

6 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

goes bankrupt, an entrepreneur (or group) can purchase their assets (not necessarily all of them, but that's not the point), start a new air

6 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

line that's not overleveraged, enact certain measures (i.e., saving reserve capital) to ensure they don't suffer the same date. The point is

6 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

We will forget. We always forget. ?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is someone making a list we can reference?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But don't forget the companies that kept you safe with cleaning products, fed with delivered food and entertained with videos. Like Amazon.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm shopping at Gamestop one last time to get rid of Points. Fuck them and I'm sorry to thier Employees.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How about the country that gave us the Kung Flu

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

A: We will forget 1 week after quarantine is lifted and B: everyone will still buy their shit. Exhibit A: Amazon.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People before the check: fuck the corporations! People after the check: I sure do need this Starwars plate set in Amazon.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Hahaha!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You do realize the entire market is an oligopoly right? Boycotting is for boys. Seizing the means or production is for men.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately that's not going to stop people from choosing the cheapest option when booking a flight home or for vacation.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

While I agree we all know amazon is evil but folks still shop there.

6 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 6

Amazon is the least of the problem

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 8

How much bailout did they get again? Oh wait... It went to the big banks...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know its difficult but 20 years ago pre amazon we got along just fine without it. All I am saying is that we can be better and just try.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Even if everyone stopped shopping at Amazon forever, they’d still be around as their web services are the real money makers these days.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The only thing amazon has over ebay is free 2 day shipping and reviews

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is it evil?

I live comfortably in a flyover state people scoff at for being boring. Our household income is ~$85k.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

But is it boring?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Every place in the world is as boring as you make it. So, only if you are.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a very comfortable salary where I live. I belong to clubs, I travel, I entertain. I play flute with a Baroque ensemble. Fun.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my wife didn't want to move to AZ cuz it's boring. she prefers a shitty house instead of a new one. WE GO NOWHERE IN LA!!! so wtf. lmao

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I have same problem, don’t know how to deal with it. Any ideas? Lives in Orange County was thinking to move to other cheaper place.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Will you miss the beach and mountains? Do you mind snowy winters or humid summers with bugs? If not, then anywhere. Lots of good spots

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or are you want info on some locations?? i can hook you up with some cities with cheap housing.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

show them the properties you can afford elsewhere??? my wife and I don't have a lot of friends, so it's logical we get outta here.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, stop being poor /s

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

90%of people who live in these super expensive places could have the same job somewhere less expensive.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Not really true. We've looked into it and even before considering student loans, our pay/col ratio is worse in most of the country.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you're specialized - which you have to to be successful - it does limit your options.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Obviously some jobs need proximity to a specific place. But for your video game example goes, BioWare is based out of Edmonton CA.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Out of curiosity, why is it so expensive to live there?

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Could be Cali or NYC. Expensive af to live there because there is simply so much money moving around them.

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

If you live in NYC and think 100k is barely enough to get by you have expensive tastes. If I made 100k I'd be saving a ton of money.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

NYC...

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

3 words. Location location location. You can live like a king in kansas for 100k of like a bum in NY for the same.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

Can confirm. Live in the center of said state. That’s way more than double what I made last year

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah well most jobs in Kansas are in the $25-40k a year range.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They wouldn't make 100K in Kansas doing the same job.

But then you have to live in Iowa.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm not knocking Iowa, I'm sure I could find things to do and neat folks to talk to. Economically it would be a poor move though.
