Happened to me as a teen. Caught the runner later that day. Cop laughed the whole time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

stolen car probably

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That should be a thing. They should make it so all license plates imprint on cars

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Mn is laminated on.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our little civic just got the door smashed in by an avalanche, and he parked beside us..Then said he didn't do it, with our door imprint on.

Epic

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too bad some states are starting to remove the embossed lettering and making it flat printed so save money.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

unfortunately this doesn't work in Florida since front plates aren't a legal requirement here

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We only have plates on the back of our vehicles.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I had someone do a random attempt at a Uturn right in front of me. smashed me real hard from the right side. In the moment pretended to>

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

then later told his insurance company it was my fault...luckily there was a guy smoking on his porch and saw the whole thing>

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

and gave me his info so he could witness

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I almost got rear ended last night. Probably would have looked like this based on his speed. Crazy people man.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hello hit and run

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This would not work in Michigan; we don't have license plates on the front bumper.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least you understand that; so many on here seem oblivious that most of the world & most of the states in the USA have both front & rear.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

New plates in Texas do not have raised lettering. Wonder what smart guy thought of that.

Oh shit, I thought it said biological laughter

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is your biological joke ticking?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did he back into the car?? When I think rear ended I think going the same direction, and that wouldn't leave an imprint of a license plate.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

Yes it would.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, the at-fault car ran into the back of that car & the front license plate made an impression on the not-at-fault bumper...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Front license plate?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, front license plates: most of the world & most of the states in the USA require vehicles to have both front & back plates...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm guessing your from a place with only rear license plates?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically.? I've seen a couple with something in the front but they're usually not the same as the license plate in the back.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Most of the world & most of the states in the USA require both front & rear license plates for easier identification...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

yeah, decorative ones in front don't count, lol. many places have to have the same official ones front and back.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm from PA where only rear is required. I have nothing in the front. Moved to CT and front and rear are required.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Former counselor showed me a video of his car after he was rear ended. Video of damage and license plate, which was plastered to his car >>

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>> the end of the video is him handing the license plate back and saying "I think this belongs to you"

"send me some love". For repost? Really?

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Had to ask!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 6

You really didn't...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Why did you assume that the person backed into a car? It’s really damaged & it’s hard to go fast backwards; it looks like it got rear ended

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Back plate is usually above the bumper and is recessed. Front one is on the bumper. So Toyota is most probably rear ended.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I know! That’s what I was saying, but the person I was responding to is OP & they said in the title: “Don’t back into anyone then”...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Last several times it was reposted, there was not a word about backing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You backed into me!

8 years ago | Likes 109 Dislikes 1

That happend to my mom. The lady told her insurance my mom backed into her on the freeway going 45 Ladys insurance called b.s.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

+1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ericsson hit them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If in doubt, blame Ericsson.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That doesn't work if you drive off. Hit and run is hit and run, and performing one pretty much guarantees you get assigned fault.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Who says I drove off? You drove off and detached your bumper, called the popo and you're good

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The fact that you didn't call the popo means you probably drove off. Always call the police after a hit and run.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe I did loud birb, you don't know. My word against yours

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In the extremely unlikely event that the hit and runner stops a few minutes down and also calls the police, they'll probably get assigned 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Accept the blame (it was 100% his fault)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

And you can tell that from this still image how?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What the shit are you replying to?????? Are you brain dead?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You. You're implying that you 100% know who was at fault here from one still image. Or were you trying to make some other point?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had similar evidence in a hit and rum police did nothing because car owner was not the one driving soo almost no justice.

8 years ago | Likes 130 Dislikes 5

We had the same here with a scooter driving somebody dead, but the two people on the scooter kept saying the other was driving. No sentence

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hit and rum? So a drunk driver?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So it's irrelevant who was driving just file the police report and contact their insurance company

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

Drunk driver “hit and rum”

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That’s the third time this week I’ve heard of the rum police doing nothing! Someone should put a stop to this madness.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Hit and rum police, so clearly they did something...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hit and rum? Sounds like my kinda party

8 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 4

Hittin' rum police. I'd join that force ;)

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

But why is the rum gone?

8 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The rum police has it all

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Pfffft...I’m still waiting for the day when I can download a car.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In Wisconsin we have owners liability which means even if they try this they are still at fault and can be charged.

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

In Australia my insurance will fix my car with no excess if I can give the number plate of the car that hit me.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's fucked up! You shouldn't be held accountable for your property after it's been stolen.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

You are immediately liable, but you can shift the liability to whoever stole it

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Or was driving it, with your permission, with proof they were driving it, or, you weren't.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Insurance. Also if you have an actual police report showing you reported it stolen it helps. Too often people use that as an excuse

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Or he was drunk.

8 years ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 1

high on that special 98 octane

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Which is even worse but then no one gives a shit and he gets off with nothing

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Or the far simpler “my plates were stolen”.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe, but it’ll only work if the culprit realizes he damaged the other car and / or imprinted his license plate number in the process.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He’d have to remove the plates before police arrive, but still explain why he’s not reported them stolen yet, and how he got to work etc

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Highly suspicious circumstances no matter how he handles it, to say the least

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Without police report i doubt thats gonna fly

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 2

That's why you report it lost/stolen and just park it somewhere... I... Should stop giving good advice to bad people.

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 2

Park the car, take the plates off, report them stolen (but not the car), and hope you weren't caught on a traffic camera somewhere.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Easy to disprove that only the plates were stolen assuming that the car is also damaged from the accident though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They log the time of the police report, your story seems suspicious if it happens right after the collision

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Thats why you have to take the plates off right before you hit someone genius!
