Always a sucker for multicolored binaries

The Scorpion SRV was just released to the galaxy. Picking up one and naming it Rasalhague I explored planetary surfaces with the first new SRV in a long time.

The Scorpion has very poor thrusters compared to the Scarab. Here I was trying to get Rasalhague up.

It took several attempts. More then I care to admit.

But finally I was able to keep with tradition and have my ship wear my SRV as a hat

This type of Stratum looks like a bad sneeze

While Rasalhague has its limitations over previous SRV models, it handled significantly better

I wonder how much radiation I'm getting here...

I found a Thargoid probe randomly out in the back. A known occurrence around gas giants with ammonia based life. This was just my first time seeing one up close.

It was hard to get a good view on these rings, the lighting changed when I was on the "bright" side of Ophiuchus so I had to grab this shot from below

I thought the reddish brown bands on the gas giant were worth a visit

This was a stunning red planet and I got to try my snowman helmet on. Not as cool as the pumpkin helmet but still... very creepy

I ended up flying through the main sequence star and dropped on this side of the neutron star. Heart attack on a bun

Ammonia atmospheres create a beautiful red look

That's no moon. Literally that was a planet I landed on the close orbiting moon.

So small and lumpy the rim of this crater was curved

Good heavens that mask is creepy

How's that for a shepherd moon!

Visits like this are jaw dropping. The subtle fog, the crater on the crater lip worn with age. A beautiful view.

The three mountains in the distance drew in me for a closer look. The middle canyon between the two on the left is almost deep enough you can charge the FSD between the two peaks

The stars get thin in the Abyss but will sometimes come together into a single system like this

An unclaimed water world in the Abyss is always a rare treat

I never saw this type of Stratum before. Looked like a cucumber.

Made it through the Abyss. Last jump to Beagle Point!

IT'S HAPPENING!

Made it to Beagle Point in a Krait Phantom all while carrying my cargo! What a journey it was!

Now that I made it to Beagle, I abandoned the mug...

... and the Lavian Brandy to the void.

Jumping to the next system, the mugs and brandy left behind

The methane atmosphere made this ice world look like mint chocolate chip ice cream

My holiday sweater was almost too warm on this water atmosphere world. Plenty of high price bios to find.

This gas giant drew me in from the FSS. Like a wooden ball.

On the way back I found a lot more Earth-like worlds.

There's another Earth-like in the distance and I was able to land on its moon for an Apollo moment.

White dwarves. Beautiful but dangerous. No boosting for me.

While more rare then they were before it seems the crystalline shards still can grow in forests

It's over CMDR I have the high ground!

Look at this two toned ring on this perfectly blue water world!

This type of ammonia world is my favorite.

I was surprised that this brown dwarf had a moon/planet that wasn't all that drastically smaller then it was.

I dub this pride rock. It was a fairly high G world so I had to carefully climb up on the fall could have killed me.

I feel like this will end badly in a few million years. Two very energetic stars way too close together.

I made it to Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the galaxy's core!

This shepherd moon was so close you could make out the individual rocks of the ring!

Almost ran into this neutron star. Thankfully not into the jets. As long as you don't run into the jets you're pretty safe.

I havn't run across Brain Trees in a long time. I didn't realize I was carving my way through a Guardian bubble.

I was worried this tourist installation was inside the neutron star's exclusion zone. Got my heart rate going.

Landed next to the Tourist Beacon at The View. And wow, what a View! The View looks great from here! These puns doing anything for you?

The paint is a little worse for wear but Ophiuchus took it like a champ! It was an honor to fly this ship there and back again.
